In looking for possible places to stay for eclipse viewing, I found this one. I'm not a hotel snob...if a place is quiet, clean and comfortable...it doesn't have to be a palace. Judging from the photos and reviews, Hilltop must be pretty bad. The thing that aggraved me most was that they're gouging because of the eclipse...$300+ for one night. And they're almost sold out. I can afford it but would rather sleep in a car.

Long story short this place is the slums.
Here's why:
After waiting about 30 minutes I had to find someone to check us in and she didn't even feel like she wanted to. We go up to our room and start to look around and it is complete trash. The bed sheets were filthy. The lady who changed them (after we requested them to be changed) said it herself that they had not been changed. There were chip crumbs on the bed as proof. The bathroom looks like something a person would kill themselves in, not to mention the showers randomly get ice cold for a few seconds then go back. There is no ice

I only gave one star because it would not let me leave a review of minus 10 stars.
I have never saw a cockroach in person until we stayed there. I didn't mind the dead one, but when I shut the bathroom door some came running out of the molding. Meanwhile our adult son who was staying in the next room over told us that there was a dirty pair underwater in a drawer and a half eaten pudding cup. We think or hope it was chocolate...
Read the contract before you sign for a room, they only give you 30 minutes to inspect. Well we all know that cockroaches don't come out until the lights go

I wish I could give no stars at all for this inn (motel standard). The rooms are very old, smell stinky, dirty blankets. When you walked into the lobby, you could actually see how old is the place and smell how bad the place is. Limited staff. No hair dryer in the room and no first aid kit at all. This hotel seems to be missing essential items that need to comply with. The ceilings are falling apart. Being called as inn is very misleading since this has lower standard than an inn should be. There is no clear sign where to go or how to go to the rooms. Staff seems to confused where they are located

ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Here's a tip: if the lobby smells and they tell you there are no refunds...leave quickly. The toilet didn't work, the room smelled, everything was outdated. It was gross! We left 5 minutes after we got to our room.
