Do not go here if you need new glasses within 3 months, the staff and office to follow covid health protocols and any equipment or setup that is from this century, and not pay for a copy of your Rx after your visit. I went in more than 4 months ago for the exam, and none of the staff were wearing the mask properly, not even Dr.Kimmit had the mask covering her nose during the exam. The rest of the office looks filthy, with filthy old paper as signs to remind you to wear a mask, circa 1990s files and filing system, filthy clipboards with reused pens to complete your new patient form, and no hand

The worst ever and messy. The first time I got my glasses they told me I gotta wait 6-8 weeks..it was pass 8 weeks I called they claimed there was a delay and they aren’t ready, then called me later on to tell me they’re ready. 2 days ago my glasses were stolen I called them yesterday spoke to them twice they asked for name and date of birth then they told me I can come in to get fitted for a replacement pair of glasses because they don’t sell my frame I used to have but will have to wait another 6-8 weeks for them. I asked them can I just get the prescription because I can’t wait that

Consumers please beware when dealing with these people. I have had issues with them getting my eyeglasses right in the past and when I brought it to their attention they were nonchalant about my issue with not being able to see and told me in order to see out of the glasses I had to hold my head a certain way....OMG!!!! What kind of an eye care professional does this? Money down the drain and glasses I can't use

I have been wearing glasses and/or contacts my whole life. The worst customer service by far. If you have a choice go somewhere else. One redeeming factor was the doctor. She was good and informative. Its the front desk workers. All the other were correct about them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would ! The customer service is TRASH ! Let me explain why:
My son is 6 years old with terrible vision . He has astigmatism in both of his eyes. He had his appointment with this place 11/5/20 and was prescribed a prescription for his eye glasses . They told me it will take 4-6 weeks .
It is now 1/5/21. 2 months later and he still have yet to receive his glasses. He has been constantly complaining of headaches , which is getting in the way of his learning , being that everything is online and at times I have to cut out his screen time or some of his daily activities

My wife and I had multiple bad experiences at MyEYEdr. We wanted someone that was not high volume franchise.

Dr. Maureen Kimmeth was great. She spent ALOT of time with my wife and getting to understand her background in eye health which tells me she really cares about her patients.

She also spent a lot of time with me and made made sure my contacts fit perfectly before I left. It was not perfect the 1st time, so went and tried again. I really appreciated it.

She did not over sell me! My current RX is fine for glasses. She checked my old glasses RX and confirmed my suspensions that

Dr. Kimmeth was rushed, but was extraordinarily professional. She understood vision issues well, and explained them better than some ophthalmologists. Her manner is friendly but occasionally abrupt. If it weren't for her staff, I would rate her with 4 stars. Her staff basically ignores the customers and it is difficult to get a prescription filled out - she does it manually, as opposed to printing it off an electronic medical record. I will not return. If you need a decent optometrist and cannot wait, she is decent, but her staff is simply rude.

This place has THE worst customer service on the face of the planet! Nobody smiles, nobody greets you when you enter, nobody is friendly, nobody is professional. WOW. They all need to take multiple customer service classes to get a clue as to how to treat customers. When I had my eye exam, the technician just went through the motions like a sad robot. The doctor was just as unfriendly. The girl who was supposed to help me pick out my glasses just slapped down two trays of frames in front of me and said, "Pick from those" without offering any help, advise, or even giving me a mirror to

I was surprised to read some of the other reviews for Freed's because I had a really great experience with the entire team. The front desk is a bit on the quiet side but all very nice and professional. The woman who did the first part of my exam was very friendly and we talked a lot about food and my upcoming trip to New Orleans. I also really enjoyed my interactions with the doctor. She is straight forward but very personable - and clearly very smart. She explained each part of the process and was patient with me during the part of the exam where you have to compare two lenses. I have been going to Dr. Kimmett for many years. I like Dr. Kimmett , but her Staff needs better Customer Service Training. I was there Wednesday before Thanksgiving for an eye exam. I walked in with shades and left out with NONE. Another patient STOLE my shades. I confronted the Lady, asked for video footage to be reviewed and as of today I don't have my shades. I'm sure (75%) Staff didn't take them......they have a pick of the litter of choices to choose from right there. However, I am now being told to call back to speak with Dr. Kimmett again.
Do NOT take them serious. Your

The Dr. here is fine. The staff is awful! After two years I finally have decided to switch to another Dr. When I called to get the paperwork to do so, I first had to wait on hold for 8-10 minutes. THEN, I was told that they could fax the paperwork to me and I would need to pay $10. Fine, cost of getting a better eye dr. BUT, when I told them that I would prefer to wait for them to ACTUALLY SEND ME THE PAPERWORK before paying, I was told that I had to pay first or no document! The other option of course is to go in and pay in person to get the document. What a farce! If your business can't

Do not go here! The customer service is horrible. The employees do not acknowledge you when you walk in the store. I visited here three times before I was actually able to order glasses because I was given misinformation on all prior visits. I only returned because the establishment was a fast walk from my job. I ordered glasses on June 1st. I was told that they would be ready in two weeks or less. I called today, June 21st, to see what the status is. Apparently, someone called my phone on the 7th, and "a female hung up." I guess that is what they wrote in their notes. Did I receive this

This place is THE WORST. waste of money and time. I went here for a new contact script - it took three, two hour long visits before I gave up. I still could not see any better than I could when I first walked in the door by the time I gave up on them. Each appointment I waited for a half hour in the waiting room, then was brought to the back waiting room to wait longer. The doctor is distracted and has 3 appointments going at a time. Not to mention she never listened to me when I told her I could not see better in the scripts she gave me - she kept saying they were the right scripts for me. NEVER

1993 called, and it wants its eye exam back! This was the most antiquated eye exam ever. Not only did I have to wait and wait to be called for my exam, but then I had to sit through testing on old machines, some of which looked dirty. I asked if they had been wiped, and the technician said they had, but I didn't see them get wiped, and there was dust and other stuff on them...

Anyway, once I stepped out of the time warp of the old machine preliminary tests (including the puff of air... wow), I walked into a very dark room where the doctor gave me my exam. She took my glasses, which admittedly

Customer Service isn't up to par with other doctors in town. Also, it seems that their fax machine and scanner never seem to work to scan or fax a privacy release form to send me my prescription. Ridiculous.

Overall, this place is fine but they need to work on their customer service. The front desk staff is never very friendly over the phone, however I never had a real problem until recently. I had a 12:15 appointment on a Friday to get my annual examination and a new contact prescription. I called around 12:00 to let them know that I was running late and would probably be there around 12:30. I know it was my fault for running late, but I thought I was being courteous by calling ahead to let them know. The receptionist informed me that because they were booked, they couldn't accommodate me and

Despite having moved to a better space, and having found a moment when this place is not busy, it still is my least favorite resource for dealing with a set of frames that need to be adjusted repaired. In this case, my frames were bent due to a pair of baby hands taking my glasses, and I was amazed that they refused to work on them. This is somewhat consistent with past experience where they also seemed very uninterested in this sort of service. Anyway, the next day I took my frames to my regular optometrist, and they were fixed in a matter of minutes for no charge. Sorry, I just can't

II have been seeing Dr. Kimmeth for many years and her attention and care doesn't get any better. She excepts most of the insurance programs and has a good selection of frames. If she doesn't have the frame you want she can order if for you if you. The location is very convenient in DC as it is very close to the metro. In March this office moved to another location and it very nice inside. However, you don't need a fancy surrounding to provide excellent medical care!

Walking into Freed's Optical is like going to the Carnival as a kid only to find out there's only a bearded lady and popcorn there. Well because of the location I was expecting something upscale, and when I walked in it was like I fell down a rabbit hole into a 1970s basement. The carpet is green and the seating area is one long bench with the material covered in plastic... yes, like at a grandma's house. And there were pages of The Express all over the seating area... just like on the Metro.

As I signed in, the lady sitting at the desk did not greet me so I spoke and she said

I wish there was the ability to give a negative star rating here. It's actually giving them too much by giving them one star. Absolutely THE WORST experience I've ever had at an eye doctor. Do not go here. The staff is rude and unpleasant on a good day and the Doctor doesn't seem to care if your eyes fall out in front of her. Complete lack of customer service aside, the actual time with the doctor is horrible as well. It's a bold statement, but this place might have the worst customer service in town.

Fresh from the ophthalmologist--script in hand--I entered Freed Optical hoping to buy a new pair of glasses. Nothing complicated, just needed to select a pair of frames, hand over said script, and pay the several hundred dollars (thanks to the crazy-thick lenses required by my near-legally blind eyes). A fairly routine procedure, just need to locate frames that fit my face.

Upon entering, I spotted a lone employee administering an eye exam. I waited patiently for about ten minutes; finally, another
