Services
If this is your first visit, we're very happy that you're here. If this is a return visit, you will notice an entirely new look, new content, and even a new logo. Following the 50-year successful history of Cedar Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre, we coined The Cedars to encompass the expansion of our services, including Cedar Home Health.
At The Cedars, our skilled nursing program utilizes a Primary Nursing model in which specific Registered Nurses (RN) and nursing assistants (CNAs) are assigned to each patient in our care for their entire length of stay. Whether a short stay patient or a long stay resident, this relationship-based care promotes the well-being of everyone.
At the Cedars, we never rest with the status quo and constantly push ourselves to provide the highest quality of care. Cedar Crest was the first independently owned and operated facility in the state to receive the Bronze American Health Care Association Step I Quality Award.

To qualify, we were required to positively demonstrate our organization-wide commitment to a customer-focused facility mission, identify our customers and what they expect and indicate our how we are striving to meet those needs. The level of commitment and teamwork required to achieve this award is apparent in everyday life at The Cedars.
Being a physician I fully realize the pressures that all medical care facilities are under these days. Oftentimes, we deal with criticisms but I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and thankfulness for your outstanding care (for my father). You are truly running an outstanding facility.
When your doctor recommends a short-stay rehabilitative care following your planned hospital procedure, it is always a smart decision to prepare ahead. Plan to visit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities prior to surgery and make an informed choice that you can tell the hospital upon admission.

I gave it some time and this is actually a great place to put a loved one. The nurses just don't want to be sued for you not wearing a mask and leaving sick. It's understandable, I thought I was being harassed but they were just following protocol.

Most of the day staff were good. Night staff had a lot to be desired. Took forever for someone to answer the nurse light. We waited 25 minutes for someone to take my cousin to the bathroom. Then I had to get someone. Her roommate fell because she had to go to the bathroom and no one came to help her. She fell going by herself because she couldn't wait any longer. She had to be taken to the hospital. My cousin had to wait so long for her meds that her pain was at the max. I have been to several rehab facilities. This is one of the worst. I recommend you research rehabs before going to this one.

Within hours of moving in to Cedar Crest for a short term rehab stint, we knew we needed to get my mother out.
For starters her bed's headboard shared a wall with the employee bathroom which is used 24 hours a day, with employees slamming the door all night, or arguing outside. Impossible to sleep through the night. Her TV wasn't working when she arrived and after asking 5 or 6 people who said they would 'Put in a work-order' was fixed 4 days later. One day she was left on the toilet in the bathroom for over half an hour, and hilariously was listed by the CNAs during that time as 'Refusing to

Was there for ten days. The staff that took care of me was amazing at all times. Place is Super nice and Super clean.
My problem was with therapy. All of the therapists are very knowledgeable and outgoing. The system is where I find fault because it is all insurance and money motivated. I had a major surgery. DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT . A couple of my first days there I didn't want rehab and because of this they wrote rude comments in my file. I was preapproved by my insurance to stay there till may 25th if needed. When they found out that I was leaving after my doctor appointment today their attitudes

My wife recently needed short term rehab after a hospital stay. I will start by prefacing that Cedar Crest, or the Cedars as it's now known was not the first choice, but the places we wanted (Cherry Hill), did not accept our insurance. I was somewhat concerned with the negative reviews, but in the end we were very happy. During the roughly 10 days she was there, I visited at various times, and the residents seemed happy and well cared for without the stink you sometimes see in places like this.

The meals were actually pretty good here, and better than the food that my wife had in the hospital

My mother went to rehab at The Cedars.
Recovering from back surgery she needed pain medication and two hours later they told me the nurse is “at lunch” and she will come in when she gets back.
I asked where are the other nurses? What if there was an emergency?

My mother was sent to Cedar Crest for PT and to heal, following surgery for a fractured hip. Unlike many of their patients, she is a “young” 69 years old, very active, independent, etc, who generally is healthy and vibrant. However within one week of her stay, I saw a transformation that haunts me to this day. In short, my mother takes a specific medicine, four times daily, which she has been on for over 20 years. This medication MUST BE TAKEN AS PRESCRIBED and NEVER decreased suddenly. Within a few days she began to demonstrate extreme personalty changes, so I inquired about her medications

This may be a beautiful clean facility but you’re not going there for a vacation . Most of the nurses & CNAs were nice , except for the one who over medicated my mother and put her in an oxy stupor for 3 days!! I was floored, and never got an apology from ANYONE! I couldn’t tell you anything about the Dr because we never met her !! She never checked on my mother once , not even after she was over medicated !!? My mother had a cervical spine surgery and as a result could not lift her arms fully (c5 palsy) and she was very weak & unsteady . She walked with a walker. She was discharged way too

My mother had absolutely the best of care while during her stay there. He absolutely loved all of the staff and even when it was her birthday they made arrangements in the big room with the piano and we had a beautiful birthday party for my mother and she was so happy and she just loved all of the stuff and they were wonderful toward her treated her like family and with the utmost of compassion and love!! The CNAs and the nurses and the staff have so much to do and a lot of patience to take care of and considering all of this they did a wonderful job because my mother was suffering very badly with

The staff is amazing!! Nurses, CNA's, receptionists, social workers....all very compassionate while caring for my dad and the entire family. My brothers and I have been dealing with various skilled nursing facilities and hospitals for a decade and we were always less than impressed with the majority of the facilities. What a difference with this place...nothing but good things to say about our experience!!

My grandma was recently here for rehabilitation after a fall at home. I must say the entire staff was very helpful and with making sure my grandmother was able to get back in her feet and also helped with information about her options for home assistance and care when she was able to return home. My grandmother very much enjoyed her time at The Cedars and loved talking to the nurse's and enjoyed the food and spending time with some of the residents. I would say if your looking for a short term rehabilitation center this would be my first choice. From the social services they provide right

My mother and sister were admitted to Cedar Crest with injuries recently. Although most of the staff are wonderful workers/caring people i.e. James, Benny, Norma, Adeka other names slip my mind (with a few exceptions one being Haley), we found there to be very poor communication with staff in general and changes of shift.
The place looks nice on the inside and outside but try to get help to go to the bathroom!! You have to wait an average of 20 minutes (not too bad) on a good day and at LEAST 45 minutes on a bad day. Sadly, we found this place to be short staffed or working at a bare minimum almost

Betty we agree with your crappy review 100%. We previously had a family member at Cedar Crest and was disgusted by the whole experience....theres sooo many complaints we could list but its a waste of time....but I will say this: the nurses and staff are supposed to take care of the patients NOT BE THERE WITH A ROTTEN HORRIBLE COLD THAT OUR FAMILY MEMBER CAUGHT. this place is a horror show and we will NEVER let anyone else in the family be subjected to their unprofessional nonsense.

This is in response to Richard's comment. Why would I bother talking to you when I spoke to one staff member on the phone about a billing issue that was the result of laziness on your staff's part back in 2009. The response was she didn't know why things had occurred the way they did because she's only been working there a couple of years and didn't know what to say. I then sent an email and got a response from the office manager who pretty much didn't want to own up to the fact that the nursing home didn't feel the need to take one extra step to avoid the issue
