Withheld part of our security deposit to polish a portion of the floor even though they demanded that we hire whole-house cleaners (including floors) and carpet cleaners on our own dime. There was no inspection done by Re831 between tenants whatsoever, and there was no cleaning hired by the previous tenants before we moved in. We got to live in a house with dirty carpets for a year and then pay to have them cleaned for the next tenants. And on top of all of this we had to pay a $200 "Roommate Change Fee" just to move in, because one of our housemates lived there the year prior. Overall it's just

While our tenant application was taking a while to run, RE831 reached out to us to keep us updated, and right away let us know once it was completed and accepted.
Their online tenant portal makes it great for paying rent and keeping track of house repairs and such. Much simpler than the hassle of collecting housemates rent money and then depositing a check in a landlords personal bank account, as has been my most common experience previously renting in SC.

My time as a renter with RE 831 has taught me one valuable lesson: if I was an owner I would think twice about trusting my property here, I know when I inherit some properties here in Santa Cruz they will not be on my radar. As tenants we have called, walked in, and used the portal to discuss problems with the unit, every issue has taken months to fix (well those that have been fixed). My experience renting with them as a tenant has showed me they are pore at their job and are only interested in getting paid; when the time comes for me to be a multiple property owner, I want my tenants and property
