The appeal of expensive, assisted living is the 24*7 personalized care, and socialization of a person in need. Oakmont - Fresno, has a beautiful building with spacious rooms, but what makes a good assisted living place? Caring, involved and professional staff who know how to listen, care and 'assist'.
In February, when we placed a loved one there, it looked great. After the Covid-19 epidemic began services, organization and management clarity slipped. Before the epidemic, residents had lots of activities, a nice dining room and good food. Almost all activities have been cancelled

Today Oakmont of Fresno had their Thanksgiving feast for residents and the families of the residents. They had posters up inviting the families for at least 3 to 4 wks prior, my complaint is we were required to preregister and pay the day of the event. Well to my surprise they charged or should I say over charged the families a price of $25 each person. Which to us and alot of the other families thru conversation was way too much! We already pay quite a bit each month for our loved ones care.....I was told twice when I inquired about the price & each time was told it would be the same price
