Services
All electronics are recycled in a safe manner with the lowest impact on the environment. We only work with certified vetted processors. Our goal: to provide a viable alternative to e-waste in our landfills through refurbishing and reuse. That is why we have developed a way to recycle and re-use the products we handle.
Green Century offers On-site and Off-site Data Destruction as well as physical destruction with Certificates of Destruction. Our certificates include the standard to which the data was destroyed as well as serial numbers of devices destroyed. We can meet or exceed your enterprise data erasure requirements.
Our flat rate fee of $35 is a single fixed fee for pick up service regardless of how much e-waste you recycle. Our service area covers all of Oregon, Southern Washington, Puget Sound and Seattle. We offer Flat rate Pickup & Removal of your old electronic - E-Waste items. GCER also provides physical onsite hard drive destruction as well as data destruction to meet any compliance needs (NIST 800).
Please remove any icloud lock or passcode on mobile devices. This allows us to wipe and verify the destruction of all data while still reusing the device. Devices that remain locked will be physically destroyed and recycled and not able to reuse for parts or as a complete refurbished device. All items are tested for functionality.
Data breaches can be devastating to an organization. Does your current process protect you? Be compliant in your industry and have peace of mind. Our mobile destruction service can come to your office, data center, or server room to securely destroy your hard drives. We offer on-site Data Destruction with Certificates of Destruction as well as enterprise data erasure solutions.

My company had a large pile of electronics waste that they have been collecting for awhile so I called Green Century and the scheduling staff were nice and easy to work with. The crew that came to pick things up were organized and got things loaded up super quick.
The prices on removal was perfect as they wave the pickup fee for businesses and they also pickup things like metal cabinets, carts and chairs. Highly recommended.

Pretty sweet place to recycle your electronics. Nothing fancy at all. You drive up in that alley way/side street and there are boxes out in the open. You toss your electronics in and your on your way.
I'd say its a slightly easier way to recycle electronics than going to Best Buy to recycle it. How much easier? Just skipping customer service since you throw the electronics in the box instead of handing it to someone behind the counter at Best Buy (in my experience anyways)

We dropped off two printers, a stereo and speakers, a paper shredder, damaged extension cords, a coffee maker, and some smaller items. From Yeon, turn left just before the tracks and drive to the back where you will see the signs, and the large boxes on palettes waiting for you to deposit your electronics. If you have something heavy as we did, you can call the number on the sign and someone will come out to help you. The sign also tells you they don't take lamps or batteries, and that ink jet cartridges must be removed before recycling. If you need residential or commercial pickup or data security

Ughhhhh! Whatever you do, don't be stupid and think you can move a 58" tv across town all by yourself in the back of your car. It's gonna break, and then you're gonna have a huge piece of junk to deal with. And what's more it's illegal/immoral to just toss away a TV because of all the electronic components and precious metals. What's a dummy to do with their very expensive trash? Take it to Green Century!
I found this place on Yelp and after confirming hours and procedures drove over to drop it off. Even though it was in the middle of an industrial park, it was

Just went to drop off electronics, batteries, ink cartilages, and UV lamps. They will data scrub your phone and laptop (no charge). The drop off area was kind of confusing to locate but basically drive all the way to the end where you see heaps of electronics and other recyclables. They charge by pound for recycling lamps/bulbs, and they charge for ink cartilages and batteries (not sure whether it was by pound or not). Workers were kind of annoyed at me for not separating everything by category (sorry!). It felt good to recycle instead of dumping things into the trash. Wish we had a closer location

I had a bunch of burned CDs to get rid of (no cash value and Goodwill doesn't want 'em) and rather than doing landfill thought I'd try these guys out. You drive in a ways off the street (follow Customer Dropoff signs) to a loading dock, where someone will meet you and take your stuff.
They charge $3/lb for taking CDs/DVDs off your hands. I had 17 lbs so paid $51 to dump a book box full of old discs and jewel cases. If that sounds like a good use of your time and money then go for it. Two tips: 1) pull out all the paper inserts and put them in your curbside recycling bin, that might

Disclaimer: I have nothing personal against Chris or Green Century, we actually have mutual friends, so writing this post is a last resort.
I purchased a refurbished macbook pro (which a mutual friend picked up from Chris and shipped to me) and two refurbished ipad minis (which Chris shipped). I gave Chris my gallery's address in Brooklyn, NY and asked him to send me a tracking number as delivery can be a "thing". A day or two after placing my order I emailed again asking for a tracking number so I could stay on top of the delivery. I didn't recieve a response and so I emailed

I was really impressed with this place. I got a great deal on an awesome Lenova all in one. It was exactly as listed on craigslist, and when I got there the gentlmen running the place were helpful and easy to get along with. The showroom is small as the primary function of this place is recycling, so if your expecting Fry's... don't, but for a good deal and nice people, i highly recommend them.

The better deals are in little odds and ends and heavy, bulky or fragile items that are time consuming to package or costly to ship. The shipping cost represents a good chunk of price you pay for those things on eBay.
Prices are disappointing on higher value, smaller stuff like high dollar to pound small form systems and in-demand upgrades like memory. They're basically priced at the highest prices the market will bear. But seriously, check prices online and use those prices as baseline.
They're a for-profit company. If you have fairly modern systems you're looking to get rid

No charge for Monitors?!! Awesome! I was charged 10 bucks per monitor at another
recycler in town; so this was a nice surprise. They took all my recycle printer toner too.
They had help on their loading area, very nice. I ended up buying a HP recycle laptop too.
Great price, but the Windows 7 licensing was no good. It has some recyclers windows sticker
and microsoft message said counterfeit. Had to call them and sort that out. Bad timing too.
The only other downside was they are "for profit" as the manager? said. No tax deduction.
Can't complain though! They didn't

I'm a bit late for "spring cleaning", but I noted an accumulation of dormant personal computer equipment and it's past time to clean it out. I've relied on Green Century before to destroy my hard drive and eliminate my clutter, so I returned with a few items. As in the past, they assisted me with my equipment and there was a $10 recycling charge - well worth it not to trip over these things again! Military/veterans get a 10% discount, and they were very pleasant and helpful.
The recycling center is easily overlooked, so I'd recommend being attentive to the nearest
