Services
The Throop Funeral Home in Ravenna was built in 1964 by Harlind Throop for his son & daughter in-law Clark & Mina Throop to start a business and a family, to have community ties and be a part of the community they served. In September of 2005, after working for other independent funeral homes for 10 years, I decided it was time to take a chance and leave my hometown of Ludington, MI, to move my family and venture out on our own.
We know from years of experience that making your arrangements in advance is one of the best ways to show your loved ones that you care about them. A pre-arranged funeral saves your loved ones the stress of having to make as many as fifty decisions at a time when they are grieving as well as relieving them of the financial burden.
On behalf of all of us, thank you for taking care of everything with Dad's funeral. It all went smoothly and your kindnesses were appreciated. We also appreciated your professionalism, sensitivity and gentleness during such a painful time. You are definitely suited for you profession! Any family is blessed to have you oversee all arrangements in a death of a loved one.

I could not have asked for a more smooth process when my father in law died! From the first call, Bill Funk took care of my mother in laws needs and was very caring in his actions to her. She talks about how nice he was when he took my father in law from the nursing home. He met my wife to pick up everything after, and guided her in and out of town, as this was her first trip to Ravenna. Thanks Bill, you are an asset to the funeral industry!
