Delaware Cooperative Pre-School
Delaware Cooperative Preschool, DCP, was founded in 1984 by parents who wanted to play an active role in their child's early education. The founding members established a non-profit and non-denominational cooperative with a spirit of volunteerism. DCP is committed to providing students and families with equal opportunity to early childhood education without discrimination based on race, color, veteran status, religion, national origin, political affiliation, sex, sexual orientation or age.

DCP offers parents an opportunity to work with our teachers to enhance their role as their child's primary educators while their children gain social and cognitive skills in a nurturing, child-centered, and joyful environment.Additionally, as part of a cooperative preschool, parents have a unique opportunity to work closely with the teachers in the classroom and help create the kind of learning environment they would like for their children.
Services
As a DCP member and cooperative owner, you will play an active role in your child's early educational experience and be involved in the decision making processes utilized to operate the cooperative this school year. This foundational element is a key reason DCP is so unique. In addition to participating in your child's classroom experiences, your committee and fundraising work will help sustain and grow the preschool.
More complete information is available in the School Handbook. Please reach out to us at communications@dcpkids.com if you cannot find an answer to your question. Please bring an extra mask and a full change of clothes. Preschoolers should also bring a fresh, labeled water bottle each day, and lunch if they attend an afternoon session.
This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Please select Delaware Cooperative Preschool as your organization. This program is designed to help Delaware Cooperative Preschool earn FREE Books and resources to promote literacy in the classroom.
Make sure that all committee chairs have all of the information they will need to complete their work/training for their committees. Oversee volunteer recruitment and ensure that committee chairs have appropriate support in completing their tasks. As needed, ensure that reports from each committee are provided to the Board of Directors for each regularly scheduled meeting.

I've had my kids at Delaware Cooperative Preschool for 2 years now (and am returning next year) and I love it. It's all play based learning that is kid focus and interest led. My children love going. The teachers are super friendly and they really care about my children. I feel very good about how they have prepared my kids for kindergarten next year as well as have instilled in them a desire to learn. Love this preschool.
