Services
Dr. Daniel Yamamoto has served the eye care needs of Hawaii for over 33 years. Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Dan attended Pacific University and Pacific University College of Optometry. He is a member of the Hawaii Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. As an eye doctor, Dr. Dan has a special interest in difficult rigid gas permeable contact lens fits.
We are located on the 11th floor of the Ala Moana Building right in the heart of Honolulu. Our office is directly adjacent to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. With ample parking located in the shopping center, our office is easily accessible by car and public transportation. We are open five days a week including Saturdays.
Our eye doctors participate with many medical and vision insurance plans. Whether we are in-network or out-of-network for your plan, we are happy to file most claims for you. If you do not see your plan listed below, please contact our office for more assistance. If you participate in a Flex Spend program through your employer, you can use your dollars on frames, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses or eye exams.

We offer a complete selection of high quality eyeglasses and sunglasses. Our office is an authorized Oakley dealer and we carry a wide selection of eyeglass frames for both children and adults. We also offer many frames that are designed to fit our Asian patients. Seven years later and some how my eyes have not miraculously repaired themselves....and here I thought every seven years our bodies shed so many cells that it is basically new....guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Who knew?
Anyhow.......because of Dr. Dan (Yamamoto) I can read the internet and all its truths or myths
Now. Here is some actual truth:
1. Dr. Dan and his team are awesome
2. They are currently by appointment only (Covid style)
3. They still let you try on all the frames you want and then sanitize them after.
4. Florence K. Is still totally correct
Anyhow.......because of Dr. Dan (Yamamoto) I can read the internet and all its truths or myths

It was a dark day, a very dark and blurry day. I was sitting in class, the dull fluorescent light beamed down on the lecture hall. I opened my textbook up and struggled and strained to read the tiny printed words, in vain. At that moment, the old-age-truck recklessly barreled into me, shattering any small remaining remnants of youth. I was officially over the hill.

I've been going to Dr. Dan since I was in college and when my husband's eyes needed to be checked I recommended Dr. Dan. His office staff and super nice and so is he. He's never in a rush and takes the time to answer my questions. I appreciate the kindness of his office and even though I only go once a year, they remember who I am.

Friends and Drama problems,
Health problems,
and so much more, you'd get tired of reading my list.
But, when I have eye problems, I am really hoping I can go to someone to correct it. My eyes were burning and tearing so badly over a couple days that I really needed to get it checked. I knew it got really bad when I had to stop in the middle of the road to close my eyes because I could hardly see. I called my eye doctor to schedule an appointment, but he couldn't take me in.
