Services
In March of 1901, Rev. Dr. S. Stanley Searing (a friend of Rev. Thomas Gallaudet, son of Rev. Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, who helped establish the American School for the Deaf in Hartford, Connecticut) met with a group of men to discuss the need to establish a home to care for Deaf and Deafblind elders in New England.
Donations from our friends provide New England Homes for the Deaf with the financial assistance we need to continue providing our residents with the best available care and quality of life. If you prefer to make your contribution by check, please mail it to New England Homes for the Deaf, 154 Water Street, Danvers, MA 01923.

The Thompson House, a HUD subsidized Independent Living Facility on the campus of New England Homes for the Deaf, is the first residential complex in the Northeast designed especially for Deaf and Deafblind seniors. Could been better: staff attitude , lack of friendly staffs I’m coda I heard nurses talking bad about deaf residents who lived /current living in the nursing home… it worries me about my family member whose had complained constantly about the staffs. If it was up to me I would’ve taken my family member out of there and place in better place than this one .

I deliver produce here staff is always busy making food and helping the elderly ppl there. Seems like a nice place it's very clean inside kind of like a hospital atmosphere but for deaf ppl. I dont know what else to really say I know my friends father lived here for year and he seemed happy. The staff and tenants always seem polite.
