Ballard Marine Service Inc has been in business for since 1991 and our focus is on service. Our facility was originally the location of Brekke Blacksmith & Metal Fabrication, established in 1900. Now, new and used outboards are on display in the character filled showroom, and our indoor/outdoor service bays feature the latest in computer diagnostic equipment and test tanks.
Ballard Marine Service Inc is a Mercury Platinum Dealer, as well as an Authorized Dealer for EZ loader trailers. In our showroom, we have both new and used motors and carry an extensive inventory of parts for Mercury, Mercruiser, Johnson, and Evinrude. With our indoor machine shop, we can even machine the parts you need for your boat.
I have enjoyed the Quality service that Ballard Marine Service has provided since 1993. They have always arose to take care of my service and repair needs, as well as solve many challenging fabrications and installations. On our way down the coast from Seattle to Mexico on our sail boat, Panta Rhei, our dingy motor quit and we tried to get it fixed in California.

My boat was broken, and the steering column was stuck. I have a Northwood, sixteen foot fishing boat. I went into the shop to drop it for a presumed estimate, on 10/26. On 10/27, I received a phone call back from Dale, who is also the owner. Dale said that he had started the work already, and was completed. He told me that he was done, and that I owe him a $1007.05. I was speechless, and did not expect that high price and only presumed it would just be a price quote. I inquired, why the price was so high, and told him I would come in to see the workmanship and what repairs had been made. I was

Ballard marine is The Best!
They know their stuff here! I Came in needing spark plugs and an impellor for a 1978 mercury outboard , and the owner knew the part numbers and where the parts were exactly on his shelf without even looking them up !
Don't waste your time shopping across rhe street at the big box marine place, the associates don't know what they're doing at all!! Always support small business!!

Dale seemed to be a good and professional when I first time walked into the shop. Very knowledgeable. When it comes to servicing the motor with asking questions what would be the next actionable steps, he has lost his temper and told me to stop silly questions, and stop wasting his time. I'm calling because I needed his advice on the phone whether I need to dispose the used motor or receive service. The estimate to decide to fix an issue would also highly cost. I'm deeply disappointed in his professional manner, and feel terrible after I thought that He and I would be in a good relationship down

My experience at Ballard Marine has been excellent. Dale is a professional. I needed repairs for my 60hp mercury in the peak of boating season, Dale came through for me, ordered the needed parts from Mercury and fixed the problem. It is very difficult to find an honest mechanic, I am glad that I found one.
