A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic X-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
Digital radiography (digital X-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental X-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of X-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. Digital X-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental X-rays.
Panoramic X-rays (also known as Panorex or orthopantomograms) are wraparound photographs of the face and teeth. They offer a view that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye. X-rays in general, expose hidden structures, such as wisdom teeth, reveal preliminary signs of cavities, and also show fractures and bone loss.

I believe one's teeth & smile is as important as the look in their eyes as a identifying window into how a person feels about themselves. I'm thankful my wife convinced me to schedule a visit with Dr. Judy who restored my full smile. It's also important to note that even though my "in network" NSB dentist offered a similar procedure, I was hesitant because Dr. Judy is "out of network," but her staff was willing and able to provide me the pricing prior to my visit, I was pleasantly surprised to learn they were able to accept our insurance and to my amazement, the bill was literally half of what

Going to see Doctor McDonnell is actually a treat. Her and her staff are amazing people and they really care about you and your dental issues first and then money second. My kids see her husband who is a pediatric dentist as well. The whole family is great. The best part is she is a Navy veteran. What can go wrong with the Navy!!!!
