Ron has always had a passion for repairing cars and helping his neighbors. He opened Ron's Garage in 1982 here in Ann Arbor, and has been proudly serving our customers ever since. Although she mostly works behind the scenes, his wife, Cindy, has become an integral part of the business. Ron and Cindy live together in Chelsea with their dogs, Lucy and Lily, who have since become familiar faces around the shop.
We have a key drop box beside our front door. Please fill out the envelope in full and drop your keys safely inside the building. If you'd like to come prepared, we have a printable form you can bring with you. Please place the completed form and keys inside an envelope and then place it inside the key drop box.
The type of car shouldn't matter, if it's the latest Lexus model, or the hand me down Chevy that you got, you can count on excellent service at Ron's Garage. We repair all Makes/Models and ensure that your car is returned to you in better condition than when it came in. We carry some of the finest auto parts obtainable.
The Check Engine Light, which is attached to an on-board analytical system, monitors many parameters and allows your car to communicate any issues that need attention. It could be something simple such as the need to change spark plugs or cables, or it could be time to switch the oxygen sensing unit or a catalytic converter substitution.
Since your safety is our number one priority, we want to make sure that your vehicle's Brakes are in excellent condition. As you know, properly functioning Brakes are essential in safely stopping your vehicle, and can make a huge difference if ever faced with a situation where you need to brake quickly.

Always a great experience at Ron’s! I work long hours and was able to drop off/pick up after hours and do all business via phone call. This is so convenient for me, not having to take time off of work for vehicle maintenance. I even got an electronic detailed service report! Have heard really good things about Ron's Garage for years and finally took my car there after several years of bouncing around between garages. I was impressed with their friendly, laid back yet professional staff and the fact that there was zero up-selling going on. They easily took care of a variety of small but important fixes I needed. They also did an overall inspection and gave me a report of all systems, fluids, mechanicals and the info I needed to decide when/if things needed attention along with the estimated cost of each. I took my car to Ron’s Garage after getting a diagnosis from a different shop.( I did not tell Todd about the previous diagnosis).
I just told them to “check the front end” I got some noise.
They gave it the once over. They took pictures of what they found and suggested some other Preventive maintenance items.
All and all I got the suggested work done. I am COMPLETELY satisfied with Ron’s and will be recommending them to anyone that will listen.

The crew at Ron's Garage always do a great job with my car. I trust them to take care of what is needed to keep my car safe so that I can get back on the road. Their prices are reasonable for the area, similar to other places around. The employees are professional and they really care about customer service. If you want to go to a shop where the employees treat you right go to Ron's Garage. Bonus points that they shuttle you home and back to the shop if you live within a certain distance.

I've been taking my cars to Ron's Garage for almost 20 years, ever since I moved to the area. Ron's is a great family run business with professional staff that's always treated us right. This past week I brought my daughter's car in for some break work. The breaks had rusted a bit due to lack of use over the pandemic. Ron's team got the work done fast, for a reasonable price, and now the car drives like new.

I found out about Ron’s from friends that have gone to him for over 18 years. They could not say enough good things about Ron and his friendly, professional staff. Ron’s Garage in Ann Arbor is by far the best overall auto service I have had in my 62 yrs of working with auto repair shops. Our dad wanted us to get the experience of doing this. Over those 62 years I have had auto repair/maintenance done at every kind of shop in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area: many different dealerships, private gas stations, Tire and muffler shops that do repairs, private mechanics with their own shop in their garage, and others. Every aspect of my entire experience with Ron’s Garage was the best I have ever had.

Not only do they OVERCHARGE at this place, they are potentially FRAUDS looking to take advantage of people who don't know any better.
I got my first oil change here after moving to Ann Arbor. The car is old, so when they told me that my transmission fluids needed to be changed, I believed them. But there was also a "bolt mysteriously missing" so they charged me for replacing that, too. The cost was over $400, and I told myself, "fine, I'll pay it. But I have my eye on them."
Upon my second oil change 3-4 months later, they told me I needed a new spark plug and that

I'm not a typical review writer, but I had such a great experience that I felt it necessary. I dropped my car off last evening for a rubbing/grinding noise when I was turning. They diagnosed the problem, fixed my car, and I had my car back by the end of the next business day. Also, the guy at the desk even stayed a few minutes late so I could pick it up before closing! MUCH appreciated. I can not say enough good things about this place. I will definitely be returning for any car needs.

I took my vehicle in due to a strange sound which turned out to be quite minor and easily repaired. I was charged 1/2 hour labor for diagnosing issue, repairing it, and providing me a overall diagnostic of the vehicle. I was informed about pricing upon booking appt which is fine. They were very nice and friendly and professional which was great. The not so great part was the pricing -- comparable service of differential fluid change with synthetic oil was less expensive at dealership.

Ron's Garage is great! I brought my car in for a second opinion on my brakes. I had brought it to another auto repair shop in the area that told me I needed new front brakes. I made an appointment with Ron's Garage and they got my car in right away. They checked the brakes and did their complimentary 30 (or so) point inspection. 30 minutes later they brought me back to the garage to show me what they found. Turns out I wasn't even close to needing new brakes on my car. They could've easily lied and agreed with the other shop...and I would've bought some new brakes from

I agreed with the owner that there must have been sth not right with transmission before since the hand brake has to be pulled to fully stop the car when in parking (Other than that, the shift is fine). But there has never been a problem or such noise with transmission for one year until I brought it to the garage, so I think there must be sth they did on the car causing the noise and the garage should be partly

Would NEVER RECOMMEND !! They completely Over charge people because they think they can. My quote was so much , I had to check other mechanics around. it was a big difference. People couldnt believe how much This shop was trying to charge !!??!! The work I had done to my car at Rons the mechanics actually Left a tool connected in my engine ???!!! The mechanic now fixing my car found it and gave it to me.It could have damaged my car. very bad experience.owner didn't care.

I had a bad experience at Ron's. I won't rehash all the details, because I don't want to grind the axe. Granted, there was a series of unfortunate problems that were not entirely Ron's fault that made the experience so bad. He told me to park the car across the street, and the car got towed because, as he later told me the businesses across the street are feuding over the parking spaces and one of them must have figured that my car belonged to the other one and had it towed.
