DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products and recycling services worldwide. Over the past 80 years our organisation has grown dramatically, as have our services and areas of expertise. Our story can be traced back to the box-making business started by the Smith Family in East London in the 1940s.
During the next half a century we grew our reputation for quality engineering and a dedication to our customers. As we grew our scale, we grew our capabilities - adding papermaking and recycling so we could view our customers' challenges in the whole and not just one part. In recent times, our business has experienced rapid growth, as well as acquiring businesses across Europe and in North America.

Services
PackRight Consultancy can be described as a combination of all our unique and outstanding services that will be delivered as additional value to our customers. DS Smith has specialist skills, which can be applied to the circumstances of each customer to deliver results. We deliver our services on both a local and a pan-European level.
As a leading manufacturer of sustainable papers, we are already using our experience, innovation and ambition to develop the bespoke strategies, packaging solutions and support services our customers need, and society demands. We are living in a time of extraordinary change. Consumers want access to products through an increasing number of channels whilst expecting organisations to meet their demands in a more responsible and sustainable way.
Our business model is focused on value-adding corrugated packaging and supported by upstream paper production and recycled paper collection. To support the production of high quality, cost-effective corrugated packaging, we manufacture paper and have a recycling business to source fibre for this activity.
As a Company, we comply with the principles of good corporate governance and have policies in place to support this commitment. The governance process is simply the set of rules and procedures through which DS Smith is guided and controlled. It applies throughout the organisation.
