Essential Chefs Catering are the premier caterers in the Merrimack Valley serving the north shore of MA and Boston, southern NH, and southern Maine. Our catering kitchen is located locally. It is state-of-the-art, full-service commercial kitchen and storage facility equipped with top-of-the-line commercial equipment with separate cooking and baking sections; on-site dry, cold, and frozen storage areas; and a packaging area.

We weren't sure how the small plates and tapas would work as opposed to the sit down dinner, but there was more food than we could imagine and every plate was too beautiful to eat!

I can't say enough about the service and food of John Martin. We met to discuss the menu for an afternoon memorial service at my home for approximately 40 people. It was exactly how he said it would be. He prepared a variety of delicious foods for a variety of palates and people were going back for seconds. Many said they took his business card and my nephew wants him for his wedding next year. From beginning to end it was perfect and made a difficult day more enjoyable. Thank you John and your awesome, accommodating servers.

We recently had a cocktail party to celebrate our wedding catered by John of Essential Chefs. Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing! His server and bartender were friendly and experienced and the food was exceptional. Our guests raved about the food. I would highly recommend John for any catering needs.

Very happy to have this catering company at my at-home birthday party. John Martin worked with me to come up with a menu that was fitting to my Gilligan's Island theme", delicious, and matched my budget. His staff took care of everything - prepping, cooking, serving, and cleaning up. Even the bartender handled the tiki bar with aplomb. As a hostess, John and his team gave me the chance to actually be out of the kitchen and with my guests.
Oh, and yes, the guests loved the food.....especially the beef sliders.

John catered our celebration of life in July and it was delightful. We didn't have a final headcount until two days prior and they handled that without a hiccup. He and his staff are friendly, professional and made do with a very primitive outdoor kitchen. All of the food was scrumptious and their displays lovely. I would recommend them for any event.
