Wasatch Transportation began operations 30 years ago with a vision of being able to bring an entirely new level of service to the special needs student population at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind (USDB). Wasatch Transportation started at a time when outsourced transportation in a district was rare.
Purchasing transportation services for students with special needs can be consuming. There are many facets to consider such as planning, evaluation, specialized routing, IEP's, direction from IDEA, legal considerations, options, discussion of concerns, driver and attendants, special equipment use and operation, medical health issues, confidentiality, state regulations, and student discipline.
