My sister died at a Brookdale facility in California after 46 days of being neglected, mistreated, and abused. Their CEO Lucinda Baier could not have cared less about my sister and the abuse that she was suffering.
She is a greedy uncaring unfeeling non-human!
Do not let anybody that you love and care about live in any of the 675 Brookdale Senior living facilities in the 41 states.
Brookdale Senior living a very bad organization!!

My sister is in a Brookdale community. I have complained to to the director about the food, and“Personal Service Rates” which show up on her bill each month. BEWARE. They will place these personal charge rates on your “Basic Service Rate”. I have written corporate and complained to corporate to no avail. They go up on rates substantially every January. They say I must call them or ask for a copy of what the “Personal Service Rates” are for. Says their system is not set up to give itemized bills. So when I call to get the itemized statement, it’s met with heavy sighs and alot of “don’t

Very unprofessional. Abusive environment for the staff. I wouldn’t recommend this facility especially because since the management really don’t care. The associates care more about the residents than anything.

BEWARE! If you have any concern for your loved one, do NOT send them here. Amidst my father being in hospice care and passing away, Brookdale caused more stress and put both my mom's and dad's health in absolute danger by mismanaging their medication. The executive director and nursing director will NOT help and avoid interacting with the families at all costs and now have to get attorneys involved. Managing medication should be the top priority and they cannot get it right. Again, do NOT send someone you care about here. I had to remove them, it's awful - and they will try and get you for every

I'm writing to to tell you about Brookdale Irvine Senior Living. I'm a resident here, I really enjoy living here. There is a range of living options, from independence to assisted living for those who need it. The food is terrific. Unfortunately because of the pandemic, the dining room is closed and we are being served in our individual rooms. The facility is hyper vigilant about the virus, with good reason. We are the population most vulnerable to this disease. Before the pandemic we had a great offering of activities, including bridge, bingo, art classes, happy hour often with

A big shout out to the staff at Brookdale Rancho Mirage Assisted Living. This pandemic has brought tough times for everyone but as a retired RN I can appreciate the added pressure to keep our loved ones safe each and every day. We have found the staff to be highly dedicated but want to single out Chardonnay Blue who has gone over and above as Wellness Director to keep the lines of communication open when we rely so heavily on eyes and ears on the inside while we patiently wait outside.
Chardonnay has shown great leadership and concern for both our loved ones AND her beloved coworkers. She is

My grandma got pressure ulcers from one of their properties. It was one of the most disheartening experiences I have been through. It was at regency oaks short term rehab in Clearwater, Florida. I questioned some marks that were on my grandma with the Director of Nursing, Rita Casey and she literally belittled me and asked if I was a nurse, insinuating that because I wasn’t a nurse I didn’t know what I was talking about. Which I’m not a nurse and I didn’t know, I was just inquiring on what the cuts were—and as a family member that should be my right. She threatened to trespass me from

If you don't know where to start, start with Michael Arceo and stop by here Brookdale Irvine. He is the Wellness Director or one of the best resources for elder care in our community. Trying to find an assisted living facility for your loved one on your own is overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes scary. At least it was for me until I met Michael and witnessed how he helped and made a big difference for the betterment of this assisted living. His knowledge is enormous, and his experience with all the different facilities, based on price range, quality of services and care, community, and

I'd wrote a review which had gone over the amount of space allowed and didn't realize that just that portion remained. It in no way explains the horrible experience we did have with them.
We'd placed my husband there following a stroke he'd had in January that had left him with severe motor skills damage including his speech and ability to walk. The nursing facility he was at had decided he was able to be released and we felt it was to premature since he'd just begun responding to the therapy he was having there. He'd just within days prior taken his first few steps

Our 93 year old mother has been in this facility for 17 months.
If you want your loved ones to be treated like prisoners this is the place. Residents are treated with disdain and no respect. Activities have been cancelled for 5 months. The food is terrible. Often not even what our mother ordered. This morning they woke her up at 7am. (You have no choice on the time). They come whenever. Don't care if you are dressed or not.
If you must visit a doctor or dentist, they try and shame you into either not going or having more monitoring. After she went to get her hearing aids adjusted, they woke

This is by far the worst caregiver of the four I have utilized over the last 15 yrs of caring for my aged mother. I just fired them after receiving a bill increase of $2500 a month with no notice or conversation whatsoever. It was the last straw in a series of ongoing disappointments with this organization. Not only do their better caregivers all leave, but their mediocre ones turnover often as well. Their senior management also cycles out often and seem to have no concern about customer relations. My mother feels many items went missing from her room. Maintaining proper care ongoing was a constant

My Mom has been a resident at Brookdale since June 30th of 2017 and I am so thankful for the excellent staff, the tireless caretakers and health department, the Brookdale Hospice, the fantastic chef and kitchen crew, and the compassionate executive management at Brookdale Irvine. Sad to see my Mom's slow decline since 2015 but in spite of her changing needs, the team work at Brookdale Irvine has been wonderful. It has been the best decision for me and my Mom. I always enjoy visiting her in her sunny and spacious unit or going out in the rose garden together when weather allows.

My 95 year old father has been here for 2+ years. During this terrible virus pandemic they have kept him safe and well taken care of. Though I hate that I can't communicate with him (deafness) I see him several times a week through a window. We touch each other's hand on the glass. The staff is always helpful and very supportive. I can tell they are making sure he walks several times a day inside. We feel very blessed to have him there.

Most valuable employee reward goes to Brookdale's cook, Chris ... IMHO. She goes above & beyond her job description to create healthy, flavorful, comfy food & meals. I've sampled & can confirm. Variety & presentation are also priorities for this hard working, devoted cook & team player. Kudos to Chris for making meal time an enjoyable experience for our residents @ Brookdale. She understands that for many of our seniors mealtime is the highlight of their day.

My friend has lived at this facility for 15 months. Four months after moving in, his bill was increased an extra $1200 per month without notice. The increase called for two person assistance in transitioning from bed to wheelchair. They charged for this but did not provide it. When a complaint was made they said they should also add another 400-500 per month for helping to dress and undress the resident. The Assistant Sales Director said that 70% of the residents were in wheelchairs, but only 10% of the apartments had wheelchair access to the bathrooms. Although they did some remodeling earlier

My father recently stayed at Brookdale Irvine for short term respite care while recovering from pneumonia. The option he had of staying at Brookdale was a good choice for him and our family - allowing him to continue to recover in a safe, caring environment. The staff went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable, eating well, and had what he needed each day. The residents were friendly and the facility was well maintained.

As a placement agency, I am in assisted living facilities daily. I love the staff, Lindsey in sales is fantastic and really cares about each resident. She creates activities for them, i.e. a Farmers Market came to the courtyard and the residence where able to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables right in their own backyard. Jeanie the nurse is fantastic, not only a great nurse but connects with the residence and gains their trust quickly. I would place my mom or dad here for sure.

Brookdale Atrium is a horrible place to work. Starting with the ED The HWC and the Human Resources Director. My family member ( stafff) was threatened by another employee and when it was reported, a suspension was placed as a result of retaliation. The staff is horrible(cna’s rca’s) they have no respect for management or staff members and the horrible treatment that the residents receive is unheard of. I would never recommend this place to live work or visit. If zero stars was an option I wouldn’t even give it that!!

My mother lived here for over 3 years. It first appears to be a nice place to live but give it time. There was some good days for my mom but in time the cost went up and the service went down. They never seem to have enough employees, however the day we left there was new people being trained for the medical department. Our experience was more like employees would come to my moms room and if she asked for anything they would either leave and not come back or say they were too busy because other people called in sick. I asked the director how many were off sick and she said there was no one off

We are in the health care industry and have been working with this facility for more than 3 years, assisting in one-on-one companion care for the residence. Since the first time we set foot in this community, we have nothing but good things to say about the staff and facility. The community has amazing charm and the residence feel more like a large family. In fact, out of all the communities we service, this is our favorite and also the favorite of our staff.

The community is managed by a warm and intelligent Executive Director, who seems to have endless energy -- a delightful and charming person

We have never had anything stolen. I think there are two sides to every story and I would guess that is the case in the review prior. The care is above quite a few other places. This was the third place that we chose for several reasons. Activities and care were top.
This community has so many people who care and help, I have never had a complaint from my parent that waiting for a call light to be

This is an update to my previous review. I may have made it sound like I was only upset because no one was there to take me on a tour. Ii was upset because if the CULTURE of the facility is such that there no Executive Director - or someone else available and on-site at all times - how would they treat my parents? If there is no need to have a director on site on the weekends - then in my opinion - there is no need for an Executive Director. How are Monday thru Friday more important than the weekends?
