Cork is a 100% natural, renewable, recyclable and biodegradable material that is obtained through an environmentally friendly harvesting process. Trees are not cut down to harvest cork, rather, the bark is harevsted by hand every 9 years. Cork oak trees can live up to 300 years!

The Cork Forest Conservation Alliance campaigns globally for the protection and preservation of the Mediterranean cork forests, its inhabitants and biodiversity, through education, direct action, and partnerships with communities, businesses and governments. We believe that teaching and promoting sustainability is the best way to systematically approach and solve the many complex environmental challenges facing society today.

These forests contain one of the world's highest levels of forest biodiversity including endemic plants and endangered species such as the Iberian Lynx, the Iberian Imperial Eagle, and the Barbary Deer. It is also vital source of income for thousands of family farmers, who for generations have worked these forests.

Our mission for this Eco-tour is to provide each traveler the experience of discovering the world of cork through the forests, the unique natural biodiversity they host, their remarkable cultural and gastronomic heritage, including incredible wine and foods.But most importantly, the extraordinary people whose lives are woven into the fabric that is cork.
A. June and July in the cork forest regions of Spain will be very much like the Southwest region of the US. Temperatures in the days will range between high 70's to mid 80's, dry and arid. The nights will cool to very comfortable temperatures. A. Causal, warm weather clothing will be the best choice.
