Ziegler Funeral Home
Hank's Buckshot Bondhu was his name. He handled his celebrity status with an air of dignity and grace. Just about any day you could see him around town accompanying me. He rarely missed a day of work at Ziegler Funeral Home where he met young and old with the same subdued acceptance. Whether it was meeting the mailman to retrieve the mail, or comforting someone during their time of loss, he always put a smile on everyone's face.

All who knew him remarked at his exceptional poise and beauty. I was happy to share him for a time with everyone we met.
Services
Tom Ziegler was from Southern Meigs County, Tennessee. Polly Ziegler is from Winchester, Tennessee. They met while Tom was attending John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee. Tom and Polly returned to Athens in 1950 and worked for Evans Funeral Home in downtown Athens. Tom and Polly subsequently moved one-half mile down the road and opened their Funeral Home.
At Ziegler Funeral Home, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends. While honoring your loved one is our top priority, we also want to help you through this difficult time.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.

My husband passed away June 5th, 2019. Tim took the time to sit down and talk to me as long as I needed. He answered my questions. Made me feel as if he really cared about my loved one. Thank you Tim.

Tim MacDonald and staff were kind and knowledgeable concerning the preparations for our daddy, George Huckabey's, memorial/funeral. They made an unbearable experience pleasant as could be, and for that, we are so, so grateful. He was their friend and they treated him with esteem and dignity.
Much gratitude,
The John Hart family
