Dr. Joel Johnson has been practicing dentistry in the Northeast Columbia community for 37 years, his entire career in dentistry. He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1974. He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 1978. He started Dental School at the Medical University of South Carolina in May of 1980 and Graduated in May of 1984.

My experience with Dr. Johnson and his staff this morning was nothing short of warm, helpful, and comfortable. Brooke made me feel at home and supported from the moment I walked in, sweetly talking me through every step she was taking and ensuring I was okay the whole time. Dr. Johnson was equally as inviting himself and I truly look forward to trusting him with such a unnerving part of my health. Grateful that I was led here and can’t say enough positive things.

Dr. Johnson and his staff are great! I have never had a cavity up until now, so I was quite nervous about the whole process. Both the hygienist and Dr. Johnson explained the entire process to me. The shot seems to be the one thing that everyone is afraid of.... well, Dr. Johnson hit the nerve in the back of my mouth and I only felt a slight tingle and then nothing else. I was quite surprised and relieved that the entire process went as smoothly as it did. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson!

My Daughter has been using Dr Joe for years and i needed a change for me. Just had my teeth cleaned and a tooth removed. My experience was very pleasant. From his front office staff to the ladies who cleaned my teeth and for Dr Joe work. Never felt any pain afterwards and even followed up with me to make sure i was OK. Would recommend them if you are looking for a great Dental Practice.

Dr. Johnson has been my dentist for as long as I've lived in Columbia, which is over 20 years. He and his wonderful staff have always treated me with the utmost care, consideration and respect, with a dash of humor thrown in for comfort. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Dr. Johnson and his staff are amazing. I felt very safe with all of the COVID precautions they have put in place. My entire family loves going to see Dr. Johnson. He has gone above and beyond for my teenage son that had major impacted teeth. Dr.Johnson recommended the best orthodontist, and the two are working together to get perfect results. 6 stars. Y'all I cannot express in words how impressed I was with Dr. Johnson and his staff. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt like they were genuinely happy that I chose them to be my dental office. It may sound silly, but your normal average office greeting is more like "hey sign this" *wait 30 min to get called back*. The hygienist, Brittany, was phenomenal throughout the process and even offered to let me change the channel on the TV. I have to say that watching HGTV while getting your teeth flossed is an enjoyable experience.
