Welwynn Outpatient Center was born from my own experience with addiction. Like many professionals with successful careers, I managed to build a thriving business in spite of being a full-fledged alcoholic. The day finally came for me to face the music and it was a turning point in my life for which I am profoundly grateful.
It is our mission to meet you where you are in life, and to fully embrace both your strengths and your opportunities for growth. What sets Welwynn's treatment apart from other intensive outpatient facilities is that we are not program-driven and we do not use a pre-scripted course of action. Our goal is to collaboratively develop a truly personalized treatment plan with you, based on agreed upon goals, methods and strategies.
Welwynn is the first in the Raleigh area to offer discreet individualized intensive outpatient counseling specifically for executives, professionals, and their families with substance use disorders, addictions and related coexisting disorders. I'm humbled and grateful to say that with the support of family, friends, and the strength and grace of my God, I (Macon Moye) have been sober for over 9 years. I am recovering from an addiction to both opiates and alcohol. I can attest to the dark, deadly grip that opiates quickly place on your body, both physically and mentally.
The Welwynn Outpatient Center team of caring professionals includes licensed and certified clinicians, fully trained in the treatment of substance use disorders. They are carefully selected to have extensive experience and expertise in working with the range of issues particular to high-functioning executives and professionals.

They seemed more interested in getting me to self-pay ($24 K for IOP) than they were helping me with my insurance company fighting for coverage—which I had. It was really more about the money than helping someone. When I agreed to pay out of pocket I still had to follow-up to get someone to call me back.

I have had the pleasure of working with Lewis and his staff at Welwynn for the past 2 years.
