Whether it's a simple dinner party, or the wedding of your dreams, we're here to work with your vision. With enough notice, we are available for travel, worldwide. Our flowers are available for delivery on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. You may also pick up an order during regular business hours at one of our convenient locations.

Services
Diane and Lily Joyal are the mother-daughter duo behind Bowerbird Flowers & Apothecary. The two are trained artists who use flowers as their paint and your world as their canvas. Their designs are meant to stir your emotions, evoke precious memories, and connect recipients more closely to the natural world.
Bowerbird offers full-service florals for weddings and events, including on-site setup and breakdown, with a minimum of $3,000 for weddings. If you're working with a smaller floral budget, you'll want to head to our Wedding Floral Essentials online shop! We do smaller events throughout the year including corporate, private events, and parties.
The Botanical Bar at Bowerbird Flowers & Apothecary serves up a menu of year-round and seasonal elixirs. Our in-house herbalist combines herbs with florals for refreshments that aren't just delicious - but restorative and invigorating. Order your favorite online and we'll have it ready for pickup inside the Durham Food Hall at 530 Foster Street Suite 1 in downtown Durham.

We were looking for a “wildflower” look for our wedding day which led us to working with Bowerbird Flowers. They went above and beyond my expectations. They came up with the idea for the most beautiful ground arrangement to go under the tree we were married near. It elevated the space while still feeling natural. Everyone at the wedding commented on how beautiful the arrangements were. My bouquet was beautiful and I can’t wait to see how all of the flowers look in our photos. If I could give Bowerbird one hundred stars I would - I cannot recommend them enough! They executed this stressed-out, anxious Covid bride's vision to an absolute tee. Diane and Lily were patient, friendly, and extremely professional during all our design meetings. Likewise, they were flexible and understanding when discussing pricing, logistics, or last-minute adjustments. And most importantly, they both have incredibly sharp style, which enabled them to curate the most gorgeous floral arrangements for my rehearsal dinner and wedding. I recommend them without hesitation.

I really don't have the words to express my feelings. I am just so humbled and grateful for how much Diane and Lily and their wonderful staff helped me achieve my vision of the perfect, vintage, fall wedding that I planned for a year.
As a bride on a budget, I wanted to DIY as much as possible and decided to handle the table decor on my own. I decided to go with dried flowers for my entire wedding and Bowerbird was so wonderful in helping me pick out dried flowers from their shop throughout the year and advising me on arrangement techniques.

We hired Bowerbird for our wedding in April and were so happy we made this decision! Finding a wedding day florist is a daunting task at best, but Diane was kind and professional throughout the process. She was willing to work with my budget and still create such beautiful arrangements that photographed so spectacularly. I had trouble deciding if I loved my bouquet or the custom hair comb more!

I was lucky enough to hire Bowerbird to be the florist for my sister's last minute wedding that I planned in 2 weeks. I loved their free-flowing style and wanted some fantastic fall flowers for an outdoor forest wedding. It's tough to find a florist who will work with you on such short notice, and even rarer to find one who - I kid you not - knows what you want more than you do. After sending somepinterest inspiration pictures and a phone consult with Diane (since I'm not local) which all showed blush, burgundy, deep purple combinations, I found out my sister actually wanted very colorful arrangements

I'm giving these guys 1 star, and important to note I have NOT been able to work with them. That's the problem for me- I've called and left a message, I emailed through their website and I have not had any response.
I was thinking of going in, however have been traveling and hasn't been convenient.
Will gladly update when/ if they respond, looks like they do beautiful work, however without experiencing that and only have the service experience I do- I must default to 1 star.

Stopped in this brand new florist to order a corsage and boutonniere for prom. What a lovely shop! They have flowers, gifts, herbs: soaps, teas, planters, cute kitchen towels, etc. Having absolutely no idea what to order, the woman who assisted me showed me some beautiful flowers they could use, in colors that will complement the prom-goers' outfits. I thought the price was very reasonable for a local shop using local flowers.
