Services
Dr. Dieter Steimann moved to the States from Munich, Germany in 1968. He attended Fullerton Community College and Cal State Fullerton and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He continued his education and graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1978. After graduation, he and a fellow student started their first practice together, right behind the Stater Brothers on Lakeview in Yorba Linda.
Our staff is thoroughly trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of the optical field. We specialize in routine eye care such as examinations, eyewear, and contact lenses and provide medical care for treating dry eye, red eye, occular allergies, glaucoma. When necessary, we coordinate with retinal specialists and refer patients for Lasik eye surgery, as well as do pre and post op visits.
NCT Test: If you have ever had an eye exam, chances are you have had an NCT test. For our office, we use a non-contact tonometry which does not touch your eye but uses a puff of air to flatten your cornea. The test one of the most important preformed during your exam because it tests for glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause blindness by damaging the nerve in the back of the eye, also known as the optic nerve.
At Yorba Linda Vision Center, we not only want to test your vision, we also want to evaluate the health of your eyes. The doctors have invested a great deal of time and money into insuring that we can treat our patients for Glaucoma, Retinal Diseases and many more eye related issues. The OCT is used in our glaucoma workups as well as assessing retinal tears in patient's experiencing loss of vision or flashes and floaters.
Dr. Steimann may have started his practice 35 years ago, but we are by no means "old School" in our practices. We strive to keep up with the latest technology that the optical field has to offer. We recently replaced our retinal camera with the Daytona Optomap Retinal Imaging instrument by Optos which offers up to 82% viewing area of the retina.

This place is awesome. Today I had the best experience I've ever had with an optometrist. Dr. Dieter has been doing this for a long time. His experience and ability to communicate with patients is best in class. Honestly I just move to the area and I've had a few poor experiences with doctors & dentist so I was a bit guarded going in. I was expecting the hard sale on the glasses and a bunch of crap I didn't need. The girls upfront are just easy to talk to and provided a pressure free environment. They explained the process and gave me options. I have no problem spending money

Suggest you read this review, it's unlike other reviews. I am in my late 60s and I've been wearing glasses or corrective lenses since junior high school so I have quite a bit of experience with glasses and optometrists. I also have several forms of insurance so I decided to do a little experiment. I got a prescription for glasses from Kaiser another one from Ketcham school of optometry and a third from Yorba Linda vision Center. I was looking for a new opthalmologist and found Dr. Steinmann's team. Dr. Hans Steinmann is super detailed and thorough!! He took time to explain everything to me and offered different options for treatment for me to consider. He is so patient and knowledgeable! The staff are nice and experienced as well. I just had my first visit with Dr. Hans Steimann, and I was so impressed with how knowledgeable and thorough he was. He took the time to explain things clearly. He definitely knows his stuff, and didn't make me feel like he was rushing me out the door. The entire staff was friendly and even told me about an online discount. I have high standards when it comes to eye doctors, and I am happy to say this experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!

I had a great visit and really liked Dr. Hans but after that it's been nothing but problems. I've had little communication with the office and can only get an update if I'm the one calling. I checked in the week before to make sure delivery was on track no issues were brought up. On Friday 05/01 I called to ask what time I could come in for pickup and was then informed that there had been issues creating my lenses but that they had been shipped and would arrive early next week. I waited a week contacted them today and they still haven't arrived. It has now been 3 weeks since

It's been a few years since I've had my eyes checked so of course I was nervous when I booked my appointment.
But, I really had no reason to be nervous! The staff was great and friendly, from checkin to checkout I received great customer service. I want to add that checking in as a new client was extremely easy and fast!
I saw Dr.Hans and he was very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly! He takes the time to explain important details and I really enjoyed the pictures taken of the inside and outside of my eyes. I have never had a place where I was able to see the inside and outside

I have been coming here for years, and I have seen both Dr. Dieter and Dr. Hans. Both doctors have great conversational skills and the ability to make these visits pleasant and easy for all parties. I love their digital equipment that takes complete pictures of your eyes making the visits so thorough!
I recently brought my autistic son to get his vision checked, and from the office staff to seeing Dr. Hans everyone was so open to suggestions and easy going. My son warmed right up to Dr. Hans allowing for the doctor to complete a thorough examination, so then we could determine if he needed glasses

I was impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of this office. From start to finish (which included picking up my new glasses) everything was like clockwork. Things were well explained and prompt. Love that.

It's a pleasure coming back to my favorite vision center. My wife and I just had an appointment with Dr. Dieter. We are blessed with good vision but we understand the importance of yearly check ups, now, that we are not teenagers any more :) This place rocks! Father and son team is amazing. The front desk staff is very helpful and very friendly so the whole experience was great. I also learnt a lot new things about taking care of eyes. Dr. Hans Steimann is the best optometrist that I have ever been to. He makes sure to explain everything very clearly to you so that you understand and few confident. His cheerful and welcoming personality makes me look forward to every appointment that I have with him. I will always recommended him to all of my friends and family. A friend referred me to this optometrist center, and I was not disappointed!!! Dr.Hans Steimann was really good at answering all my questions regarding Lasik surgery and contacts. He explained everything and was very friendly. I even was given some contacts to try as part of my exam, with a follow -up appointment included if I had any other questions or issues to resolve. The staff were helpful and the office atmosphere welcoming. I would highly recommend this office.

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile! I found Dr. Hans Steimann after reading all of the great reviews online. I was looking for a more personalized experience- with a dr and team that is both knowledgeable and uses the latest technologies. I found it here! From start to finish, everything was so easy! I was able to fill out the paperwork online prior to my appointment. I like that they sent me a text and an email reminder for my upcoming appointment (I never answer unknown phone calls). The place was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Great customer service. I was taken

Wonderful staff and Dr. Steimann is fantastic! Dr. Steimann is very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest advances. He is also personable and makes your visit a pleasant experience along with his staff. Office staff is extremely efficient and experienced in working with insurance providers and letting you know what is and is not covered under your plan. Have been seeing the doctor for years and would highly recommend.

Dr. Dieter and Dr. Hans have both been providing excellent eye care to me for many years. They both care very much about their patients' vision health and recently installed state of the art equipment that allows them to not only detect any eye problems,but other health issues that CT eye scans can reveal.
The office staff is always professional, friendly and thorough in explaining insurance coverage etc. It's always easy to make an appointment and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see the Dr.

I have used this center for several years and find it to be first rate. Doctors and staff are always pleasant and willing to take time and explain everything in full detail. The office is comfortable and located in a good area. My eyeglasses have always been there on time and just right. And after my visit, I can walk a few shops down and have ice cream!
