Services
Chuck or Dr. Bittel Senior is a long time resident of Orange County where he attended Western High School in Anaheim. His undergraduate degree in Medical Microbiology was completed at California State University, Long Beach. He began his professional career as an educator, teaching biology, physiology and chemistry at Villa Park and Canyon High Schools.
Our office is conveniently located on Yorba Linda Blvd in the East Lake Village shopping center (next to Von's). We are a family optometric practice comfortable in serving the needs of patients anywhere from 4 to 104 years old. We tailor our exams to meet the specific needs of each individual in our exam chair.
Myopia (or near-sightedness) is a condition (some would argue a disease) that impairs an individual's ability to see clearly at a distance without the use of corrected lenses. Due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors (primarily an increase in screen time and academic demands) the prevalence and severity of myopia are increasing world-wide, especially in young children.

I'm a "mature" gal who has suffered with severe dry eye disease for decades.
Kaiser has taken good care of me but they do not offer the Lipiflow procedure to unblock oil glands in the eye lids (or something like that). After researching I decided I'd try it and Dr. Bittel's office was my pick - close by and great reviews. It was also at the least cost (this procedure is not cheap!).
Dr. Bittel III was wonderful through the whole process (as was his staff). They did a ton of tests to make sure I was

My family and I just LOVE this office! Everyone is very pleasant, it is very well kept, and they are very punctual. My son and I just arrived home from our appointments, and I commented to Dr. Bittel Jr. how impressed I was regarding their efficiency. Our appointments were at 3:00 and 3:30, and we were walking out the door at 3:50. It's been like this for the past 3-4 years we've been going there. I was referred to this office by my sister, due to a poor experience at another office. I could not have been more impressed, from beginning to end. I initially booked my appointment, and asked that they call if another time opens. And they followed through, and got me in earlier! The office was super clean, had an open layout and was bright/happy. I'm new to the area and recently commuted to see my Optometrist. He gave me some new trial contacts which I tried yesterday morning. It was like I has Vaseline in my eyes and I couldn't see except for colors and shapes. Too make maters worse I couldn't get the contacts out of my eyes! Very panicky situation. I've been a patient of Dr.Bittel Jr. for the past 6 years. The care he gives his patients is outstanding and I couldn't imagine going to another optomotrist. Last year I developed "pink eye" while on vacation in Mexico. I contacted Dr.Bittel, and within an hour he emailed a prescription . I went from seriously thinking of the next plane home to having medication that got me through to the end of my vacation! That's the kind of care and support you get when you are a patient of his.

Have been coming here for years and love them. Saw Dr Biddle Sr last time and he was so informative. Showed me pictures of my eye with great explanations. Wonderful teacher. Have been having Linda help me pick glasses now for at least 4 years. She makes what would be a long painful process(choosing a frame) quick! I have been very happy with all my frames. The staff is all very nice and helpful... never have I walked in and not found them helpful. I am rough on glasses and they are always helpful in adjusting them and replacing pads. They even text me to remind me that it is time for yearly exam

Amazing everything!!! The staff, selection, obviously Dr. Bittel. This was my first time there, I was referred by my fiance who has been going for years. Everyone was so friendly, and we even received a hand written note thanking us for coming in. Brand new office, loved the decor (coming from an architect), it has been recently re-done and done well.

I want to thank Dr. Bittel so much for his diagnosis and letter to my primary doctor regarding my tear ducts. I was able to have all four ducts opened up about a week ago and I am happy to say that my eyes no longer runneth over with tears. It was the use of his new equipment to help diagnosis Dry Eye that found my more unique condition. I had been bothered by my constantly watery eyes for years and while other doctors thought it might be Dry Eye it was never evaluated. Saw Dr Bittel for the first time last Friday and ABSOLUTELY LOVED him and his staff! Never been to such a good optometrist hands down! Dr Bittel even sent me a message reminding me of my appt and sent a thank you letter after! It's amazing I've never had this kind of care before! I had SO many questions and was so confused when it came to my prescription and he explained everything thoroughly and was so kind in explaining with detail! Deserves more than a 5 Star I'd say !

The customer service here is awesome. I've been coming here for three sets of frames now. My recent ones were coming loose. I just drop in and they stop what they're doing and focus on fixing my problem.....never a charge. Well trained personnel and great service. Keep up the good work Dr Bittell and team!!

Make sure to ask if a contact lens exam is covered by your insurance. I was under the impression the contact lens exam was a normal part of the regular eye check up and only came to realize it wasn't $30 bucks later upon check out.
Other than that the optometrist was very personable, informative, and detailed.I really like the girl who did my eye pre-check up. She was cheerful and considerate- letting me know where I can put my things.

Yelp brought me in, my experience will keep me coming. Hadn't been to the eye Dr. for 14 years since I got Lasik in 2001, but with age comes some fuzzy reading on my computer and phone so I went in. Sue did my pre-exam tests and she was kind and patient with me. Dr. Bittel was great! He spent time explaining the results of my pre-exam tests and helped me understand what to pay attention to as I continue to age. Danielle helped me pick some glasses and was very kind and made me feel comfortable picking my frames and understanding the costs. I can't wait to go back and pick up my glasses

I'm a Yorba Linda local and found this place on a recommendation of a friend. I went in and was really pleased with Dr Bittel Sr's consult on my eyes. I have horrible eyesight and I'm terrible to my eyes (contacts) and he put me on the right path. The next year I saw Dr. Bittel Jr and he was so professional, I was completely awed by the computers that took pictures of my eyes and the technology they were using.
I can't say enough about the front desk service. They are always friendly and helpful and I was so grateful to them for figuring out my insurance issues.
