I thought this needed a new updated review. As of 11-01-2016, National Steel does not pay cash anymore. They give you a check now. To me, this causes some issues. People go to national steel to make some extra cash the same day. Now they have to cash a check. The checks are made out to Frost Bank. You have to now find a frost bank or go to your bank to cash the check. Sure you can go some where like H.E.B to cash the check, but it'll cost you money. So I received a check of $13 and had to pay $3 to cash the check. Not fair considering most people who go to sell their metals are low income.

Checks are now required by law for regulated materials. You may get cash if you have a cash card (again required by law). This law went into effect in September 2015. This procedure is the same for every scrap yard entity in Tx. Great place with friendly service and competitive pricing. Highly recommended.
