I would not recommend these guys if you want your boat fixed in a reasonable amount of time. And when they failed to meet their timelines that they communicated, I was understandably frustrated. 4 weeks turned to 6 weeks turned to 8 weeks turned to 10 weeks. And when I voiced frustration with the process, the owner said that I was "rude" by doing so...really?? They clearly don't care about setting expectations and customer experience.

I needed a Volvo Engine tech to do a last minute compression check and engine diagnostics before I purchased a Regal Commodore 3860.
In an extremely demanding time right before July 4th weekend Sean and Mario came through huge! They got to the boat before the deadline I had and sent me thorough reports on both engines. Highly recommend.

Negative. I am trying to sell my boat through their brokerage services but having left messages and had one conversation with Arturo, I have not had the courtesy of a follow up response despite leaving messages on the sales telephone number as well as with the service team. The caller ID for the sales number is strange and the voicemail message doesn't indicate that you are talking to 5 Star. So ISO a professional outfit....

These guys are one of the best boat repair shops in the Lake Travis area. It’s always hard to trust a repair shop because you never really know if they’re trying to get over on you. But after getting to know these guys and seeing them work for a few years I now trust them implicitly. Last year they had to tear my port side engine completely apart to do the heads and they were able to get it back together and it’s been running perfectly since then. This year I had them pull the outdrives and just do a once over and everything looked great.

They worked on my boat for years and their attention to detail was always incredible. They would touch up or fix little things. The work was ALWAYS done right to a professional standard and made me glad that I hired them instead of DIYing. When it came time to sell my boat Arturo coordinated every step of the process including detail and necessary repairs. The boat was sold ABOVE my expected price. Arturo (Sales) was awesome to work with. After showing my brother and I the features on the boat, etc he took us to nearby Lake Travis for a test drive. Arturo helped me resolve a couple of small items with the seller and I purchased the boat. However, I then needed it delivered to another lake where I reside. Arturo was able to address and handle those accommodations for me also. Very appreciative that every thing went smoothly. I would purchase from here again in the future.

John Deprato is a CROOK! Their “mechanics” walk on water in his delusional world of Five Star Marine. They can do no wrong.
They can’t properly repair and keep customers boats from sinking when they were paid exorbitant amount of money to do so. Now forced to hire an attorney to make them stand behind their work!
There are many other choices, do your research and steer clear of this place, you will thank me.

I have had ALL of my marine service performed by Five Star Marine for the last 20 years. John and his Service Manager Shawn have consistently provided great customer service. I have owned a Carver cruiser, cobalt 222, and 2 Houseboats We just purchased a Sea Ray 320 from John's Broker, Daren. When we were in the market for a 320, Daren was very responsive in showing us their listings and working with the seller to close the sale. I'm down to one boat now, and will continue to recommend John and his team for service and sales!

I purchased (paid for in full) and picked up a used boat on Jan 18,2018
(Edit - correction I picked the boat up on the 23rd, but 5 Star Marine has dated all the paper work for the 18th)
I still have no titles and have been getting the run around for weeks! I keep being told we are doing everything we can.......I find that very hard to believe.
And if you sold it you need to finish the sale
Now a lawyer has to be involved so this can be resolved!!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BUSINESS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH

Five Star Marine and in particular Mike Matusiak has done all my service as well as custom work on my two boats that I have had in the last few years. From a 35 foot Sundancer cabin cruiser to my current sedan bridge boat. Mike has solved issues that nobody else including Mercruiser themselves could not and I would not trust anyone else working on my $250K asset.

Darren the manager is the worst person you could ever trust your boat with. Avoid this place at all cost and seek out somewhere else. I have never experienced such bad customer service. He had our boat for 6 months. If we called he said we needed to do nothing and he was taking care of it. When it didn't sell and we went to pick it up and move it. it was trashed. They didn't close the cabin windows even thought they took it out twice. Each time the moved it it was never cleaned, or even washed off. They destroyed my boat. Let this be warning to every one!!

It's been almost a year since we bought our bought from 5 Star. They raced to the bank to cash our check within an hour of us writing it. I guess once they had our money they didn't feel the need to deliver on their promises. We spent weeks asking for the Bimini top, detail and service records we were promised. After weeks of calling, texting and go to their location we finally got our top. It was "lost" , "delayed" ,"wrong one shipped" etc for weeks.
