The Children's Garden Preschool was established in 2004 as a home preschool designed to nurture and protect the magic of early childhood through a nature and play-based Waldorf inspired curriculum. Our vision is to provide young children with a warm and nurturing first step away from home, one filled with outdoor play, natural crafts, bread baking, imaginative play, storytelling, songs and seasonal celebrations.
The Children's Garden also strives to provide an environment and opportunities for parents to find community and support one another in their parenting adventures. Located in Southwest Durham, our little school includes a large outdoor playground, a garden, woods, swings, and a sandbox.

Services
Ms. Vickie became a part of The Children's Garden community as a parent in 2006, when her daughter Abigail was enrolled in the program. Naturally, her second daughter, Adah, followed and joined the program. Once Adah moved on to kindergarten, Vickie joined The Children's Garden as an assistant to Ms. Marie in 2014.
In the fall we will start each day outdoors. When the needs of the group or weather changes warrant an indoor start the rhythm may be shifted. A weekly rhythm is established through the practical and artistic activities of each day. Bread baking, gardening, woodland walks, cooking, watercolor painting, feeding and caring for the wildlife, beeswax modeling and other handwork activities are offered throughout the week.
