At Direct Native Plants, we are committed to helping restore the balance of our ecosystem to the way nature intended. Industry and development have destroyed much of the natural habitat on which plants and animals depend for survival, but by planting native plants we can help restore a natural balance.
Native plants aren't just for the birds and the bees! They can help clean our water, purify our air, and provide food for the insects pollinating our food sources. Without these benefits, we as a species would cease to exist. Change starts in our own backyard with some simple adjustments to the way we do things.

Services
Direct Native Plants was born out of desire to get native plants into more backyards - not just in faraway woodlands and wetlands! We already had success (20+ years strong now) in expanding the use of native plants to the restoration/reforestation industry with our parent company, American Native Plants.
Direct Native Plants (under the parent company American Native Plants) is located in Middle River (Baltimore County), MD. This is a full-time year-round position, Monday- Friday 7am-3pm with some weekends needed. Overtime is offered. Contributes to team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with whom there is contact.
We now ship via FedEx. Orders are shipped out on the week you select, and depending on how close you are to our nursery in MD, shipping will take anywhere from 1-4 business days. You will receive a notice with tracking information when your order ships out. You will be able to see shipping costs before completing the transaction.
LOCAL RESOURCES - your local university cooperative extension and native plant society can be great starting points when researching native plants. Homegrown National Park - A grassroots call-to-action to restore biodiversity and ecosystem function by planting native plants and creating new ecological networks.
At Direct Native Plants, we take many precautions to make sure your plants will arrive in the best condition possible. Our perennials are grown in a 4 quart-sized pot. These plants are then cut back to fit our packaging, placed in a protective clamshell container (made from recycled materials), and then shipped to you in a cardboard box.

I ordered two female winterberry plants and one male winterberry plant a week and a half ago and they were delivered via USPS this past week in perfect condition! I also want to add that their website is one of the cleanest (no clutter) and easiest to navigate of the various native plant nurseries I have found. I also appreciate that they deliver within the continental US. It has been a hassle for me to try to find native plant nurseries that have items in stock and will ship to my area. Many of them only sell locally and make you come pick them up yourself. I was really happy to find them and
