My CMF experience… I was referred to this company by my credit union SCEFCU. Never thought a simple pre-approval could be so painful and time consuming :-/
*6/9/2021: Contacted by CMF Sales Support rep “EM” asking if I’d like to renew my pre-approval
*6/16/2021: Secured updated docs and uploaded
*6/29/2021: Emailed CMF Sales Support rep “EM” asking for confirmation that all docs were submitted correctly since I have not received a response. No response received
*6/30/2021: Emailed CMF Loan Officer Asst "RO" and asked for call back and status
*7/2/2021: Received a call back from

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company.
My story is too long to list but let’s just say they won’t take my payments and I’ve received multiple empty promises regarding forbearance and the assistance programs they offer.
I cannot even begin to express my loathing for this mortgage lender. I can’t wait to switch. Seriously f the whole place. Set the whole place on fire.

I have my mortgage with CMF and has been a horrible experience, I been trying to get a current mortgage statement for over a month. I called and get in contact with a dozen of people that promise to send it and until now I get NOTHING but frustration. I will not recommend this company to no one.

Spoke to Stephen Gilson their loan servicing manager and he was exceptional. He took the time to listen to my problem and was very apologetic. He took ownership and worked to resolve my issue and was able to correct all of my concerns. He will be working with their call center to ensure proper escalation process is instituted in the future. Based on his support I have increased my score.

Referred by my Credit Union SCE.
SCE always provides excellent customer service, so that's what i was expecting from this company. My first conversation with loan officer Allen Young was a huge flag to look elsewhere but i decided to give them a 2nd chance and requested to work with someone else , then assigned to Scott F.
Our first conversation was good and it seemed like we were going to be able to work together and move forward. That was also our last conversation as i have not been able to get in touch with him. even to get reception to answer is a hassle. Dodging a bullet here and looking

I would NEVER recommend this company not even if they were the last company available. They were recommended to us by SCE so we could purchase our first home. We waited over a week for a phone call and never received a phone call. I made three phone calls, and every phone number I was given was wrong. A week later, we finally received a link to download all of our documents to get a pre approval letter and was told it will. take 2-3 days to receive a pre approval. It’s now 3 WEEKS LATER, they LOST our paper work, and now they WON’T RETURN our phone calls. Rebecca and Alan are unbelievably unprofessional

First we are in a Pandemic, Second Scott Fraley, Nanette Davila (no longer there) Debbie Lankford, and Jennifer Montez are ALL Exceptional people to work with. You need to Understand with Low Rates everyone wants there Loans done. The whole team at CMF works hard, and diligently to make sure our loans are taken care of. One star is too generous for this company. I have a mortgage with CMF and I have to say their customer service is horrible. Every time I called for the last 6 years, their representatives are either rude or unreliable. For example, they say they will have certain documents on e-Docs for me and they don't follow through. You have to call at least twice to get anything done with these people. For example, I called recently for a loan payoff statement. The representative said they will send out the payoff instruction to me and I should be receiving it 7-10 days. Well, I waited for 3

Due to a bad experience with another Mortgage broker. My husband suggested we use CMF to continue with our home loan. We spoke with Jennifer Montes and her team. They helped us TREMENDOUSLY! Since we where in escrow for over 20 days, Jennifer and her team have only two weeks to close Escrow. Unbelievably they where able to get everything done and we closed only a few days passed our original close date. Thank you CMF Team! We are so thankful for all of your hard in such a short time, we will definitely be referring friends and family!

I was referred to this company by my credit union SFFCU. I spoke with Scott Fraley initially and everything went well. Provided him what he asked me for and even uploaded documents to the link he provided me with. I was merely trying to get a pre-approval. I sent emails, texts and phone calls to him, both his cell number that he provided and his business phone and no return call, text or email.....all I got in return was crickets chirping.

I'm very frustrated with the lack of response, failure to deliver on promises and general SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW processing of our loan. We are supposed to close mid next week and I'm still waiting for closing documents that were promised over a week ago. My original loan officer rarely responded and it seemed nothing was moved forward unless I followed up continuously. He left the company and my loan was assigned to another individual who never made contact. I only found out because my email to the original loan officer was rejected by the server and I had to call to find out what was going

Whatever you do - do not use this company! Buying a home is stressful enough, so you want a good partner working besides you - that is not Community Mortgage Funding! We were working with Allen Young, and when he wasn’t on vacation he wouldn’t respond to our emails. He misspelled our names on very important documents, didn’t happen to mention that we were going to get a super high interest rate, and would add rush fees to items that we didn’t ask for. When all of this became to much to just write off as just a minor error, we had to change lenders. So far this has been the worst company

I did not think purchasing a home would be this frustrating. From the time I started until I ultimately just threw in the towel and cut ties. I was placed with a realtor who could not identify with what type of dwelling I was interested in purchasing i.e., bedrooms, location, HOA etc. I expressed that 3-6 months was my goal, I understand that when I'm dealing with this timeline there's no sense of urgency but to email homes that I'm not interested in and DO NOT FIT what I've asked then change the filters on your online searches, stop being lazy!

1 star simply because there is no zero star. My parents have this company through Altura and have been getting calls constantly about payments that are "going to be late" but are NOT yet late. Calls where my mother is left wondering if she made the right decision in using this company because she feels that they are trying to be intimidating and there should be no reason to be using a tone of such when speaking to a customer. If I can give them an half a star, I would. I was interested in refinancing my home. I spoke with Scott who had my file. He said that he would look it over and get back with me in 30 min. That was at 9am and at 330, still no call back. Instead, I called him. He said that he was in a meeting was the reason, he hadn't called, but would look at my file at call me back in 15 min. Three weeks later, still have heard back. I ended up calling another lender and was approved the next day. My loan will be closing escrow in a week. OMG! I went through 7 different lenders and could not get a loan. I resorted to private money and was also referred to Community Mortgage Funding at the same time. I almost didn't go through another lengthy process, but I really did not want to get private money. NANETE was the first one who initially helped me and she got the right people involved to process my loan pretty quick. I was interested in applying for a loan. I received a pre-approval from another lender. I wanted to also get a pre-approval from CMF. I provided all of the paper work required, I received a response back 6 days later. Allen Young was rude during this entire process. In the last email he was extremely rude and said "see I'm working on weekends". Why do I care about him working on a weekend. He said I would get approved for such a low amount that I wouldn't find a place for that price in Southern California . Really!?! I have found places listed under that price. He never asked
