FIHC is a privately owned, Maine based company that has been providing professional caregiving to Maine seniors since 1997. Our owners are Bob and Darcy Poor. The two are proud to be life-long Mainers. Bob, who has practiced as a Physician Assistant for over 20 years, is proud to have taken the company to its highest level of professionalism yet.
As a "hands on" owner, Bob is involved in the company's daily operation. Darcy, a Registered Nurse, is the company's Director of Nursing. Our team of professional care managers and caregivers are among the most dedicated in the industry. All of our team members undergo background checks at the time of hire, are well trained and receive continuing education in order to provide the highest level of care to our clients.

This allows us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us, and what Friends In-Home Care is all about. This initial consult is also a time to do a complete evaluation of the home and what specific needs you or your loved one has.
Our rates are based on the level of care provided. Feel free to call us anytime to discuss your specific care needs and what rates may apply. We work with several insurance companies who provide Long Term Care insurance. If you have a LTC policy, feel free to contact us to discuss the process of reimbursement.
