Crazy overpriced! Went in for two after dinner cocktails. Got two Bourbons on the rocks and bartender made it a double pour without asking. Cost was $44. If I wasn't on vacation and didn't want to ruin my night I would have said something. Bartender apparently was trying to boost her tip

We are spending Thanksgiving week and are meeting our daughter and her fiancé at The Reeds at Shelter Haven and needed to express our sincere gratitude to Diane and Margaret who made our check in experience so seamless and uneventful. They exceeded our expectations and started our week’s stay in the best possible way with their kindness and genuine caring to make our time at Reeds the most relaxing and restful it could possibly be! We highly recommend The Reeds at Shelter Haven to ALL travelers heading to Stone Harbor!

I was looking forward to staying here since I had gotten a $750 gift card. Turns out even if you have a gift card they still want to charge you over $200 on a regular credit card to have a card on file. With that being said, the receptionist was not accommodating and couldn’t put me on the phone with a manager. Why do you give out gift cards if they can’t be used off the bat? There are 5-star hotels in NYC that don’t even do that to people. Disappointed and hope I can get a refund for this gift card. Be aware when purchasing a gift card!

In my opinion, this is a mediocre (at best) oceanside inn deceivingly dressed in high end luxury clothing. I requested a water view for our suite. We had a lovely view of Fred’s Tavern instead. The shower would not drain. After calling maintenance, they proceeded to pull up tons of disgusting black mold, hair, you name it. Gross. During check out, we were asked about our stay and told them the honest truth that it was “just okay” and the front desk staff was extremely dismissive. Had no reply other than “would you like your receipt emailed?” as if to say, your problem not ours. Why even

My experience with this establishment has been absolutely atrocious. Attempted to book a room for a wedding as I was in the wedding party. I missed the discounted rate window by 2 days on account of the birth of my daughter. When I asked politely if there was anything that could be done, especially considering this was a Sunday wedding after Labor Day, I was told absolutely not. I was to pay the full price. Fast forward now to this week when due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel the aforementioned room, granted it was 5 days before the check in but I assumed I could at least receive

Or the high prices, we expected much more. Although the physical plant is lovely and the room itself was well appointed, it was not ready at check in time and no one came to clean it the next day until we were showering to go to dinner. Our room Keurig malfunctioned and we were promised a new one but none came until we complained again 8 hours later. The Sax restaurant kept us waiting at the door while a hostess tried to bus dishes and clean the table with a hand wipe.( The dining room was almost empty) When a server finally took a drink order we waited without while server chatted with another

Checked into a $1,000 + per nite suite for a Sunday through Wednesday stay. The Reeds had a wedding party with bass that vibrated the third floor. Wedding guests yelled profanities from the rear deck F×ck seemed to be the preferred one. With our windows closed and a fan and sound machine running our two year old son cried untill the madness stopped. At this price range this behavior is totally unacceptable. If I want to visit a night club I'll visit a night club, I dont expect to be stuck above a nightclub at a conde nast rated resort. I called the front desk at 9:30 Sunday evening after

Have been coming here since it has opened. The outdoor bar has been a great addition to Stone Harbor. However the food is a fair at best and the wine list is - let's just say below average at premium prices.

Our stay was nice and the room was gorgeous. However our air conditioning was not working and our room was warm. We called the front desk and the front desk receptionist was snobby and condescending. She was not helpful or apologetic. I did relay my experience to the general manager and she too was in a hurry to push me out and not listen. Insincere. Because of that I gave three stars instead of five. They did have a watermelon eating contest which was terrific. It still doesn’t make up for the rudeness we faced… when you’re paying $600 a night you should at least get some sincerity

Pretty disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I went end of June for 2 nights, 3 days. There were THREE weddings on property that weekend … which wouldn’t have been an issue whatsoever aside from the fact that many amenities were restricted (and the property didn’t inform us this was going to happen). Outside dining time was restricted for some of the wedding events, the pool area was restricted for some of the rehearsal events, and the reception area was directly under our room … which meant loud music/band until 10 PM for 2 consecutive nights. (Apparently wedding events are restricted

Weddings here are beautiful! Food was better during the wedding then the everyday lunch. All dishes we got needed more flavor and better presentation especially given the price. Service was bad. Had to try to find our waitress constantly who was on their phone. No manager in sight. It looked so disorganized all around, at the bar and serving at other tables...and it was a Tuesday! Took 20 minutes to get our bloody Mary's and 30 Minutes after that to get our food. Will go back for the sunset maybe, but probably nothing else.

Went out to the deck for a drink. The deck area was nice but service was poor. Bloody Mary was the worst I've ever had. Failed to even recognize us for 20 minutes at a bar that was not busy. Asked for water 3 times before we got it - just before we were ready to leave. Expensive for poor service and mediocre drinks.

I will never stay at this hotel again. We stayed for 2 nights back in June of 2021. The interaction we had with both the hotel staff and the restaurant was pretty poor. I even remember one morning outside of our room a guy was yelling at the valet service screaming "you guys lost my car!" Their staff and management is like a carousel. They go through new people every couple of months. I was even told by one of the employees who actually had been there a while that upper management is a complete mess. Stay away from here. The Windrift and Icona are much better options.

The ambience is fantastic. Beautiful patio but extremely overpriced. Some lunch menu items would have been great for dinner but very strict on lunch and dinner menu availability. We asked for oysters for an appetizer and they never brought it out. When we asked for them again, the server thought we asked for a second serving which we didn’t, just wanted the first round, but wanted to charge for both. The server also said the bar was backed up when our drinks were late but the table next to us (sat 20+ minutes after us) received their drinks before us. If it’s beautiful and warm out, highly

Prior to my engagement to my now husband, we frequented the Mexican restaurant and the Grille, both owned by the Reeds. We'd get there by boat, dock in the bay right there and we had many fun times with friends and as a couple. When we decided on a venue, we chose the Reeds because of our connection to the bay and the beautiful aesthetics.

Now, there's always good to the bad. The good is that the venue is beautiful and the hotel suite we upgraded to was really nice. The cocktail hour was great. The servers were really nice. But, that's about it.

Fast forward to our wedding - it

Beautiful and sparkling clean! Located just a few blocks from the beach, we stayed here for a couple nights while our new home was being completed. The hotel is well decorated with convenient amenities, such as wireless phone charging, tv, Keurig and high end toiletries. We stayed January 2021, and the room was sterilized and ready for. They continue to offer turn down service with a little sweet delivered. We felt very comfortable and if needed would stay again.

We had the worst experience in this overpriced hotel. Extremely rude service from the management.
We took a suite in this hotel and brought our small service dog (frenchie )with us, we told them in advance when we were booking it .
We ordered overpriced 40$ risotto and salad for the room service for dinner. After 40 minutes we called to check on our order , nobody even put it in.
Then the waiter (who brought food to the room) complained to the management that our dog was fallowing him, which was a complete lie (every dog usually meets any person entertain the room, if you know what I mean, but

Let me start by saying there is such an amazing opportunity with this location. It overlooks a beautiful bay. The bad news is that The service is just OK and the drink prices are outrageous. The food is good but not worth the price. We were particularly disturbed by the Waiters reaction when we asked if they could break a Dollar bill to pay for parking. They said that many people complain yet they had no quarters available. For such a high-end place, to not have this plan for or at least react in a way that made us feel like we were in a high-end place is ridiculous. We paid our $34 for two

This was my second time visiting the outside bar/dining area of the Reeds. The first time I felt that the bar area was dirty and not welcoming . Upon my second visit the entire bar too was filled with dirty glasses & dishes from previous guest . We stood off to the side waiting for an area to be cleaned off but it never happen . The Reeds is suppose to be an upscale resort with top notch services , and it's everything but . The area was honestly gross and very unorganized.

The view and setting is outstanding, food is also very good!

Upscale Pricing for Third Rate Service

For the prices they charge I would have expected a more professional staff. The resort and rooms are nice...nothing special though. I would compare it to a regular Marriott.

The service was unprofessional:

-There was no valet check-in because of COVID, which is totally understandable, they just had a little stand on the street (which was easy to miss). I was directed to the parking lot around the corner where the attendant told me I had to get the clicker from the guys at the stand in order to open the gate. I guess she saw the surprised look on my face

Five star pretensions overwhelm this otherwise beautiful property. If I wanted to be condescended to over dinner while I'm laying down a king's ransom for a coffee, I would have walked into the The Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel wearing a Trump mask.

The staff and kitchen here simply couldn't care less and apparently have decided that attracting transient beach business is lucrative enough without having to do the heavy lifting required to cultivate repeat patronage. Never again.
