Selden Optometry's goal is to take care of you and your eyes for a lifetime of healthy, sharp vision. Our optometrist, Dr. Diane Wallach, truly cares for your eyes and overall health. She coordinates care with your primary care doctor. She instructs on healthy contact lens wear as an alternative to glasses.
Charles M. Rutter, IV is a graduate of the optician program at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. He has been with Selden Optometry since 1994. He is known and trusted by our clientele for his glasses expertise. Valerie V. Brown received her optician training at Norfolk's Vocational Technical Education program.
Multifocal contact lenses provide clear vision at all distances. Head movement does not affect vision. This design is available in soft disposable and RGP lenses. Sometimes monovision - one eye for distance vision and one for near vision - is the the best contact option. Disposable contacts are the most common contact lenses.
Frame designers are artists, with a function to their art. We are often able to sit with these creative individuals when we purchase our frames at an expo in New York City. They are enthusiastic about the material, the palette of colors and the becoming shapes. We gladly share this with you in our own frame gallery at Selden Optometry.

This review is for the front desk staff. After having a routine appointment, I received a bill in the mail stating my insurance did not cover me for the appointment. I called this morning to clarify the issue and let the women know that it's important they don't use my social because my husband is the sponsor. She told me that I can call my insurance and take of it myself because they already ran it once . I told her I did call my insurance and that's why I'm asking her to run it again properly (w my benefits number and the sponsors social as I am not the sponsor ). When I tried

I love Selden Optometry and know that my eyes are going to be well taken care of. Appointments are easy to make, it is conveniently located on Granby St (you can park at MacArthur Mall and it is easy to get to). The place is immaculate, the front desk is friendly and helpful and Dr Wallach is the best! Easy to find reasonably priced glasses too! Thanks a bunch Selden Optometry!

Dr. Wallach and her staff were awesome! Dr. Wallach took the time and much patience on fitting and tweaking contact lenses for my multifocal needs. I go hack next week to see if any more tweaks are needed. Exam was very thorough and equipment is very modern and up to date . I normally wear glasses for reading and computer work but got tired of not seeing menus when at restaurants and bars because I forgot my glasses. I read reviews on Yelp and I can say they are accuracy in saying that she specializes in contact lens challenges !

This was my first visit to Selden Optometry! I found them with a quick google search of local optometrists and they had the best ratings and I see why! This visit was for my daughter and I'll be making an appointment for myself as well! Very clean and organized office space with a very good selection of frames, something for everyone there!! Seldom Optometry was very thorough, saw me a second time at no charges because I was having an eye problem when I was seen for my first appointment. Dr. Wallach is very thorough, I have not had an exam like that in years. My last doctor kept saying my prescription was still good for the last five years, however Dr. Wallach tweaked it and I see much better. Thank you

I originally chose this optometrist for the location, but will definitely stick with Dr. Wallach and co. for their excellent service.
Upon entering, the office is clean and offers a great range of eyewear. Really nice, high-end designs if you're interested in new glasses.
The staff's demeanor is very warm and welcoming. Before I was a patient, my eyeglasses were loose and I walked in seeing if they had an eyeglass repair kit. They didn't but they fixed my glasses for free. How nice is that?
I ended up coming as a patient because my contacts prescription expired. Dr. Wallach gave

Dr. Wallach helped me to emotionally heal from an upsetting episode that occurred at another eye doctor's office in Northern Virginia!
(At this other office in NOVA, I was flat-out denied contact lenses after taking longer than the doctor's ideal amount of time to learn to put in the lenses in my eyes. Also, the glasses given to me at the other office were very different than what I had chosen. Needless to say, I was very deflated with dealing with optometrists at this point.)
However, back on topic, her friendly and upbeat demeanor made the appointment flow at a pace so quickly,

This optometry practice is wonderful. Dr Wallach pays close attention to details, medically and aesthetically. I wear a very strong prescription (think "Coke bottle" type) and she was the first to take the time to find a frame that not only supported the heavy lenses but we're also comfortable and complementary. Her staff is helpful and professional. I tell all my friends about her.

I have worn glasses or contacts since I was four years old so I have seen my share of eye doctors over the years. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Wallach. Her staff and herself are personable, patient and make you feel like you are visiting old friends and not the doctors office. She is funny and explains exactly what she is doing and why. I went here for a routine eye exam and contact lense fitting and went into the visit with no expectations at all. However, I was immediately surprised by the friendly and relaxed receptionist (a plus, for sure). My experiance got even better when meeting with Dr. Wallach. She was so incredibly friednly and warm as well as personable and patient with me as we reviewed my medical history. She also was professional and knowledgable, explaining what she was doing and looking for through each process.
