Established in January of 2002 St. Thomas provides a comfortable place for young children to learn and play. The facility is state licensed and inspected by the State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services. St. Thomas Episcopal Child Care and Preschool is dedicated to providing quality child care services to infants, toddlers and preschool children.
The Toddler I program is designed to stimulate learning and development through exploration of the structured environment. The Toddler II program is very similar to the Toddler I proram, with an added emphasis on structure and self help functions such as feeding and hygiene. For this age range, 3-5 years, we offer a variety of learning areas such as blocks, manipulatives, art exploration, language and reading, science, math and dramatic play.

The philosophy of St. Thomas Episcopal Child Care and Preschool is one of nurturing, love and understanding. Every effort will be made to provide a stress-free atmosphere, yet filled with stimulating experiences to promote the growth and well being of the whole child. We use positive proactive behavior management techniques and age appropriate activities to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative needs of each child.
The infant program is carefully structured around each infant's individual needs and is based upon their unique developmental skills and achievements as per the parent's request. Whether the child wants to play, eat, or sleep, our staff does its best to accommodate that need. With a low teacher to child ratio, we are well equipped to quickly meet your child's needs.
The Toddler I program is designed to stimulate learning and development through exploration of the structured environment. Toddlers are encouraged to make their own choices from interests as diverse as dramatic play to fine motor skills. Short periods of structure are incorporated within the curriculum with activities including finger plays, stories, music, and a language circle time.
The Toddler II program is very similar to the Toddler I proram, with an added emphasis on structure and self help functions such as serving themselves meals and drinking from an open cup. This room is filled with items that encourage fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills, cognitive skills, math and science.
For this age range, 3-5 years, we offer a variety of learning areas such as blocks, manipulatives, art exploration, language and reading, science, math and dramatic play. Our classrooms are print rich environments that encourage reading readiness and skill development.

Hands-on activities are provided regularly to allow the children an opportunity to understand their enviornment better.

So disappointed! Called this place on monthly basis from about February-June to keep verifying our spot. We were told we had a fall spot, so we asked when we should come in to fill out paperwork and pay. The employee on the phone said we could come in a couple weeks before our start date to do that. That was about a week ago. Now, they're saying they gave the spot to someone else, because they didn't know we wanted it. Are you serious? So, now we don't have a daycare for our kids to attend. I was telling everyone how excited I was about this daycare; however, I now can't express how upset I am

St. Thomas is an exceptional place. My daughter started here at age 3 and was only with family before then. From day 1, the teachers at St. Thomas took care of her like their own kid. Every teacher and helper she was with treated her with love and respect. She developed socially and academically during her time at St. Thomas. I highly recommend St. Thomas Childcare and Preschool.

I now have 2 kids at St Thomas and couldn't be happier! They love my kids and treat them well. It's hard to leave your kids with other people all day, but St Thomas keeps you in the loop all day. My daughter can't wait to get there each day. It has been so wonderful to find a daycare that is convenient and is managed well. I highly recommend St Thomas.

The staff is wonderful here! My son loved his time here! I love that they use an app to keep you updated on child, i.e. food, nap, diaper changes. And almost every day they'd send you a picture of my little guy. This place is so perfect! I had a different work schedule every week and with them open 6am-6pm it made it so much easier to drop him off and pick him up.
