This is a very common question because people associate needles with pain from Western Medicine. Acupuncture needles are not anything like hypodermic needles used to administer medications in Western Medicine. Acupuncture needles are many times smaller in thickness and are solid with smooth endings.
I have been seeing Romi for more than two months and her attention to my medical needs are outstanding. She is a wonderful listener and pays attention to detail in each individual patient. I did not know what to expect in terms of outcome, but Im very satisfied with my results in such a short period of time.

If you plan on using insurance to pay, do not go there!
I went to Tacoma Acupuncture a while back to ease my back pain. I received acupuncture and cupping. I was billed over $200 for these basic services for a 60 minute session. My insurance covers 90% of acupuncture treatment but she overcharged and coded for 4 separate items that my insurance was only able to cover a small fraction of and I was left with a larger invoice than I would’ve received just paying up front.

I recently threw out my back and was dealing with a lot of pain from a muscle spasm and limited mobility. I experienced some relief after chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic massages, but I was still in a lot of pain. I was encouraged to book an acupuncture appointment and I'm so glad I did. After 1 session with Romi I felt the tension and pain melt away almost immediately. Night and day difference. The next day I woke up pain free and was able to work and function normally. I highly recommend Tacoma Acupuncture for pain relief, stress reduction and overall health.

I was raised in a homeopathic family with a chiropractor as a father. I have had body work my entire life. I have an ancient back injury that occasionally gets aggravated when I am sloppy about how I perform my work duties. Generally these "kinks" work themselves out however this last week I was having a difficult time recovering. I have had acupuncture before with limited results so I was expecting somewhat of the same when I made my appointment. This session was remarkably different! Ms. Epstein was skilled and accurate and delivered a technique that released the tension around my injury. Later

Romi is a true professional, I cannot recommend her enough. I received a referral to her for continuing treatment on an issue that I've had for several months. She was thoughtful, engaged, extremely knowledgeable and set-up a personalized treatment plan for me. At the end of the plan I felt both mentally and physically improved. I will be returning to her in the future for further treatment when the need arises and will undoubtedly refer her to my friends and family.
