When the wines were good they pleased my senses, cheered my spirits, improved my moral and intellectual powers, besides enabling me to confer the same benefits on other people. Per CDC guidelines, we are following all appropriate social distancing and sanitation procedures. Since our staff is completely vaccinated, and all our tastings are outdoors, masks are no longer required.

Saintsbury Winery was founded by Richard Ward and David Graves in 1981. Incidentally they both met during their graduate studies in Enology at UC Davis while taking a brewing class together and is where they made their first non commercial wine (a Santa Barbara grown barrel fermented Riesling).
Fate sometimes works its magic - David had a biology degree from UC Santa Cruz and Richard had an engineering degree and both were pursuing careers in the wine industry.David Graves and Richard Ward, both UC Davis graduate students at the time, met in brewing class. David and Dick are housemates working the Napa Valley harvest at Chappellet and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.

Can't join us at the Estate? Not to worry, we have created three unique virtual tasting packages that showcase the handcrafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that we're known for. Each requires a minimum of 5 participants and will be shipped directly to each of you in time for us to gather together on Zoom.
Ever since our inception in 1981, one of the prime edicts in our philosophy has been to shine a light on growers who produce exceptional fruit. Without the specific knowledge of their land, and their tireless hard work, the wines we seek to create simply aren't possible. Winemaking at its best is a synergy of the land, the vine, weather, and people.
These educational pieces, which are part of the media kit, were created for your use. With a thirty five year history of producing Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, we are able to provide you with the stories of our great learnings and successes. If you are in need of additional information or would like to set up an interview, please contact the winery at tasting@saintsbury.com or call 707.252.0592.

Good place but very very loud. They have a lovely garden area but for some reason put every group in a tent and the acoustics sort of ruined it. Our host was great but I could hardly hear him over the noise from other tables. Tent is good if it's raining but had my heart on sitting in garden area and enjoying the views. I would go back but I would call and ask about the seating situation first.

This is a more home-y type of winery.
Before I came, a lot of mishap occurred with my reservation. There was a lot of back and forth communication, but Terry the manager was very accommodating for our party.
When we got there, we instantly fell in love with the location. The set up of the tables with the decorations is a plus. I believe the person serving us was named Taylor(?) she was awesome! She knew everything about the wines, and was able to answer all our questions we had. It felt more like an actual conversation rather than her just trying to serve us. She would fill our glasses every

Great service here, but the were was just average for Napa. They were all solid wines, but nothing spectacular that I took home. My gf who only like whites, did not like any of her wines, just an FYI. I love how pretty the seating areas are and felt safe during covid times since everything was spaced out.

Saintsbury Winery is a gem but helped so much more by our expert host Tyler. This was our first visit in several years to Napa in October 2021 and the first of 5 wineries on our schedule. Saintsbury has a beautiful shaded courtyard with lovely flowers and a hummingbird(!), all lending itself to a relaxing, casual vibe. Tyler showed an impressive knowledge of wine, varietals and wine-making as he said he has an interest in the business side of wine and his passion showed. We had many questions and he answered them all. After visiting the other 4 wineries Tyler's knowledge, demeanor and expertise

My partner and I came to Saintsbury because it wasn't one of the large, heavily trafficked wineries and boy did we make the right choice especially given COVID's rising prevalence.
I had only been to wineries on the east coast where I live , and this place blows them out of the water. The first thing we noticed was how pristine the area was. The weather this day was absolutely beautiful. It was a little warm outside, but the shade from the trees in the garden was everything I needed. I am not sure if there are other tasting areas, but the garden was picturesque and beautiful.

Casual, excellent wine, dog friendly, and a a beautiful venue. Couldn't have asked for a better wine tasting for our few hours in our first visit to Napa. Tyler was so friendly and so informative. He shared meal recommendations and his own impressions of the wine along with his very pragmatic girlfriends impressions of a wine (she, like myself, tends to judge one by whether or not she'd take another sip and not just the flavors/hints/story/etc. An incredible experience and we left with a few bottles and the hope that we'll be able to come back soon.

We came for a bachelorette wine tasting and had the best time of our whole weekend. Ask for Tyler! He had us laughing so hard we cried, and we had a spectacular time. I loved the casual garden setting, and you can even walk around the vines right behind you! The wines were DELICIOUS, and again, the service from Tyler made the whole trip for me. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

My partner and I, along with our small dog, had a great time here for Valentine's Day! Our server, Tyler, was amazing! Very informative and detailed about the wines we were tasting. He was super nice and friendly, was really attentive to us and our little dog, and made sure we were well accommodated throughout the whole experience. I loved that they were dog friendly, followed Covid measures well, and overall very welcoming and casual. We had such a great time, would def come again! Thanks Saintsbury!

Absolutely beautiful, quaint winery. The experience was very intimate and we felt very cared for by the staff. Taylor was incredibly knowledgeable. As we were tasting the wines, I felt that I learned so much about the origin of our wines and what influences each of the flavors! The experience was so welcoming and pleasant.

A great getaway from being locked up at home during COVID-19. We made a reservation ahead of time for a tasting on their beautiful patio under the trees. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Their wines are delicious and winery is dog friendly. We ended up buying quite a few selections from their rose' to their Pinot noirs. Highly recommend stopping by.

Napa is best known for producing world class Cabernet Sauvignon but a little region in south Napa called Carneros is all about the Pinot Noir. One of the best wineries in the region is of course Saintsbury. Not only do they make great Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but they also source grapes from other regions to make other excellent Pinot Noirs. So if you're a fan of Pinot like we are this is the place for you.
Over the years we have been blown away but their consistant guest experience. Jacob has always been someone we've enjoyed being take care of by. His wine-side manner is

One of (if not THE) best winery in Napa Valley! We love this place so much, we eventually became members. Wines are top notch. The location is gorgeous. And the service is always above and beyond. You'll feel like you're visiting a friend's vineyard, and they can't wait to show you their latest creation. If you're visiting Napa Valley, you should definitely make a reservation to visit Saintsbury.
