Services
AKF Athens Martial Arts is a traditional martial arts school. Not only do we teach usable physical skills and techniques, but we also emphasize the development and growth of the total individual. We work to instill in our students such values and attributes as tolerance, serenity, self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect for others.
Kyuki-Do is a living, growing martial art that continues to expand and change. In addition to the core elements of Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Hapkido, Kyuki-Do also includes techniques from Jujitsu, Karate, boxing, wrestling, traditional weapons from Okinawa and the Philippines, and many other arts and styles.
Will AKF Martial Arts actually increase you or your child's confidence, discipline, physical fitness, and teach vital self-defense skills that you'll be able to use for the rest of your life? My 13 year old son was very involved in an amazing MMA school in Asheville, NC from 5-8 years old. When the owners of that dojo relocated to another state we couldn’t find another place like that and he stopped MMA, which greatly affected our lives. After moving to Athens, we realized that it was time to look for another dojo as equally wonderful as the one in NC. After an introductory class with the owner, (Master Blumreich) sitting in on another class here and visiting one other school, we knew we’d found the right fit.

My son attends AKF and he loves it. His focus has increased and physical abilities have greatly improved. The atmosphere is professional, welcoming and fun. Fun is paramount for my son. He started at 4 years old (they can start at 3) and if it wasn't fun, he wouldn't still be there at now 5 years old. The instructors do a great job of balancing fun and learning.
The price is affordable and the class times are flexible. So if you want a martial arts training without a lot of ego, but still serious about technique, this is a great place.

I am new to the school and relatively new to martial arts in general. The instructors are incredibly patient and knowledgeable. There is also an awesome leadership program that helps you learn terms more quickly and practice leading portions of class in various drills. I appreciate their emphasis on building knowledge as much as skill. This is a great activity for people of all ages.

My 5 year old son attends AKF and they have won me over. Master Blumreich (and his staff) are incredible at working with the kids and I am so glad we found this place. I would highly encourage you to give it a try, especially if your child needs to work on their listening skills. It is a positive environment, my son really looks forward to going. It's a wonder to watch the magic happen and watch the kids respond.
