Traditional Okinawan Karate is a fun, community-oriented martial arts school serving serving East Fishkill, Hopewell Junction, Fishkill, Beacon, LaGrange, Wappinger's Falls, N.Y. and more. Our school teaches Isshin Ryu Karate, a traditional Okinawan martial arts style. Our emphasis is on learning, having fun and getting fit.
Students learn traditional kata, self-defense techniques and karate fundamentals. We also teach many grappling, throwing and joint techniques from Judo, Aikido and Jujitsu. Higher-ranking students also attend advanced Kobudo - or weapons classes - at no additional charge. In addition to regular classes, Traditional Okinawan Karate students can attend an adult retreat and regular seminars with internationally-known instructors.

This place is awesome!!!! We have been a part of this karate family since it opened it's doors. My daughter absolutely loves Ms. O'Neill and Mr. Nuccio, they are amazing instructors. Not only are they knowledgeable but they are kind and respectful of their students. Always encouraging the students to go a little farther than the last time. Not only are they teaching my daughter karate, but they are giving her the confidence to try new things and challenge herself on a daily basis. We LOVE Traditional Okinawan Karate of East Fishkill! My son has been with them since November 2018 and it has given him confidence and got him interested in being more active and learning new things! Mrs. O’Neill & Mr. Nuccio are an amazing team in instructing the kids & they’ve got the patience of saints! ‼️🥋

A great place for all ages to study traditional karate. Ms. O'Neill and Mr. Nuccio are excellent instructors, patient, caring and very knowledgeable not only in our style, but in martial arts in general. If you want balance with mind, body and spirit, come check out this dojo...it's more than karate, it's a community.

My son just turned 5 and expressed interest in Karate and I didn't think he was ready, until we saw this school at a local festival and I saw how great Mr. Nuccio was with him. I did a trial and it really sealed the deal for us. Ms. O'Neill is fantastic as well as Mr. Nuccio they're patient, knowledgeable, and overall great instructors. We are so lucky to have come across this school. My son loves it and I recommend it for boys and girls of all ages. It's great for focus, discipline, exercise, motor skills, and of course self defense.

This is way more than a great place to learn martial arts or to get a good work out in. They are a second family. This dojo is beyond welcoming and caring to every person who walks through the door. This is a place you go where you know their focus is teaching you and making sure you are enjoying the experience. Also they are FANTASTIC working with people with different struggles, from a child with autism to someone with multiple physical disabilities. I came for the karate, and I enjoy the karate, but it is the people that keeper motivated and coming back when it gets hard.

I have not been to Ms. O'Neil's Dojo (yet) but I have trained with her at many Karate seminars. She's amazing and I love watching her new students test and rise through the ranks. She's a diligent and thoughtful instructor that will get the best out of you or your child (or both!). If you ever want to be part of a Dojo from it's early days, I say join it. When you look back in 5 years, you'll be glad you did. Stop by and try out a free class, you'll be glad you did!

This is an awesome place to learn karate. Ms. O'Neill is a kind and caring instructor who makes sure you get a great workout regardless of your physical restrictions. This school offers you self-defense, physical conditioning, confidence, and a second family. Highly recommended for anyone, kids and adults alike.

My son is 6 and has been here for a year now and we absolutely LOVE it! I myself just signed up for calsses too and they are so much fun! The instructors are amazing. Not only do they keep the class fun and interesting they are very patient and kind with the kids. There are always fun events going on that are for everyone and they give friends and family a chance to participate as well. I'm thrilled we have found this dojo and we look forward to many years or participating. I would definitely recommend this dojo to anyone looking to get into karate, you won't be disappointed!
