Our class went over every single look in complete detail which makes it very easy to learn. I traveled very far to come and take the course and it was worth every penny. I loved JLS Makeup School! Julie is amazing! She was patient and showed me makeup and hair. I took the 3 week course and learned so much. I worked on models and did a Hollywood movie. I am also going to do s Netflix series as well along with other projects! If I can give the school a higher score I would! I highly recommend it...go for it! What are you waiting for! I enrolled my Wife Anna for JLS Makeup School and it was definitely a great choice. She took a two week intensive pro class and now she is fully confident to start her career as a professional makeup artist. Julie was very patient and supportive of all the students and she has already referred Anna to work on two gigs! Very happy with JLS and highly recommend to anyone thinking of becoming a professional makeup artist.

JLS instructor is incredibly professional. I got booked for a short film in my first week! The instructor is so caring and has an awesome studio. She has incredible patience it's amazing how much you can learn from her! Makeup kit is so professional and so many celebrity like Zach Efron come to the studio to get his makeup done and you get to work with them! Models and many many more celebrites. Nothing is like JLS and the instructor!!

The owner of this school, Julie, has an incredible resume in fashion and makeup artistry. She's friendly and makes you feel comfortable. She is a very good teacher with lots of experience to share and she brought in a model for us to do the makeup and shoot for our own portfolios! You score the most to-die-for makeup kit and it's full of terrific quality makeup products that put you on good footing to begin your career. Nice high end studio environment as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and it was well worth it!

Having two daughters I was apprehensive when my oldest daughter wanted to attend the school and wanted to pick this for a career I'm happy to say that she is working for one of the big studios in Los Angeles as a makeup artist and it's very successful.
My youngest daughter is now attending not even halfway done yet already has job offers waiting for her she's excited we're excited.
Can't say enough about JLS makeup School very professional very courteous

Organzied with JLS Make Up School for them to attend a music video shoot to look after make up. Got given our make up artists name for a 5.00pm arrival. At 5.15 called the school and said she hadn't shown up. They called her and she said 'she wasn't feeling well'. We were shocked. Not only a last minute pull out but she wasn't even going to call. Honestly, never come across anything more unprofessional in my life. Schools excuse was well you aren't paying so......... . SO!!! Don't say yes, that's how it works when your a student working on set should be a

JLS is home to not only the most humble but the most knowledgeable group of people I have had the pleasure to be around in regards to more then just makeup but photography as well! I was lucky enough to get some photos in the Julie and they turned out absolutely stunning! I would recommend that anyone who may be considering taking a trip down to JLS Professional Make-up Artist School to hesitate no more because I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

I had an important photo shoot with a couple of other ladies, and we were gifted a hair stylist - Shohreh, and makeup artist - Shokoofeh. What gems they were! I find it so unbelievable that this business still exist or they didn't close their yelp account yet . I would think all their five stars review and fake and bought to cover their bad reviews. I was always reminded of this bad review I wrote through all the pm I received from many similar victims as me . It's been more then 6 years and they are still doing the same , never learn from past and worst , start charging people even more then before . If you are reading this , run away from this place as far and quickly as u can and u could save yourself your hard earn money and time !

THE WORST MAKEUP SCHOOL I HAVE ATTENDED. I came in Los Angeles to study and i found this makeup school. The reason I chose this school for three weeks was based on the good reviews I saw, however I can definitely say I had the worst experience ever.
Before attending the school I paid $4,250.00 in advance for three weeks but I only attended one week because I noticed that Julie Schiffer (teacher) was not professional at all, she was rude and mean to all the students. This crazy lady became physical and pushed against the door when I asked for my money back. I have a witness and a police report

I heard about JLS all the way from Dubai. I attended JLS for a 2 week professional makeup course. 1st week was professional makeup, second week was airbrush, special effects, and portfolio.
I loved the class. Learned everything i wanted to learn and more. The instructor Julie was very welcoming and patient, Since i was a complete beginner. The course includes an amazing makeup kit which included amazing brands like Too Faced, Kryolan, NYX, Smashbox and many more brands. I was able to build an amazing portfolio at the end of the course which really helped me.

I had a great experience working with JLS. I went as a model for the makeup artists to practice on, and the woman who did my makeup (her name was Nada) and Julie, the instructor, did a great job with my makeup, making sure I liked it, and making me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. After my makeup was done, Julie took some amazing photographs of me which I get a copy of. The studio is adorable with a laid back, happy atmosphere. I can't wait to go again!
