Services
Your ocular health evaluation includes screening for glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration, as well as eye-related complications of diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Understanding your current and past health issues, medications, and family history are critical to protecting your vision over the years.
I'm Gregory Kraskowsky, aka Dr. K, and I have been the owner of Alamo Optometry since 2007. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California- Irvine in 1996 and my Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2000. Coming to the office every day is a privilege and I enjoy serving the eye care needs of the local community.
Many patients have both vision plans and medical insurance. They are very different in terms of the services they cover, and it's important for our patients to understand these differences. Vision plans cover routine vision wellness exams, along with determining a prescription for glasses and contacts.

Came in with my current prescription on the reccomendation of family member. Had an excellent experience in a comfortable and pleasant setting. The staff is very professional and provided excellent customer care. Very helpful with selecting frames and explaining lense options. I will definitely be coming back here from now on for my exams, glasses and contacts. I would highly recommend Alamo Optometry.

Kat and Kim were fantastic in helping me with my mom's eyeglasses. My mom is in a nursing home and unable to ride in a car. Kim clearly understood the problem including

She fully explained to me what she would try to do. Her expertise and in depth knowledge base were noticeable and I so greatly appreciate her help and time.

I ran out of contact lenses and my old prescription expired, so I went in as a new patient to do a contact fitting. The doctor and the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. The visit process and the post-visit follow-up was smooth, and the staff helped me with my contact order and they are super on top of things, and communicated with me via text which I love. I would recommend this place to my friend and family for their optical needs.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, I’ve been going here for 20 years and they’re like family. The warrantee they offer for their frames and lenses is amazing. They have swapped out scratched lenses for us many times without any questions. We are life long customers! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Dr. K has been my optometrist for some years now, the service is always friendly and professional.
I'm not rushed, or ever had to wait a while before my appointment. The lenses I've had made through the company have always been perfect, something I'm not able to say about other glasses retailers locally.
I'm happy to recommend them 100%.

My experience with this office was horrendous, and the front office woman was rude and condescending. I would not recommend seeing this doctor!
I made an appointment as a new patient for a simple check to get an updated prescription for a contact lens. I had recently had mono vision LASIK and my ophthalmologist had said I was able to get fitted for a contact I needed to play sports on the day of my appointment.
I showed up at my appointment time and was told to fill out paperwork. After 15 minutes of waiting, the front office woman (who annoyingly kept calling me "dear") told me

I procrastinated to have my eyes checked for years because I did not want to walk away with a prescription for glasses. For reference, three decades ago I had been told I needed glasses on two separate occasions. I don't wear glasses now and take care of my eyes. I finally decided it had been too long and based on Yelp reviews and proximity to my home, I made an appointment at Alamo Optometry. The booking appointment process was very efficient as they clear the insurance paperwork prior to the appointment. The appointment itself was extremely thorough and educational. Great Dr and staff. Always get a great exam and follow up care. The staff are wonderful and helpful. They make sure that I have the most updated trendiest frames to choose from, that look the best on me and fit my style. I always get so many compliments on my glasses thanks to Alamo Optometry. Our entire family goes to see Dr. K and has been for several years. Cannot speak highly enough about his service and expertise! Efficient and communicative scheduling and insurance-handling, straightforward answers to sometimes complicated questions (like, can my 8-year-old wear contacts?). Really nice selection of eyewear, and an incredibly patient and helpful staff. (And P.S., yes, 8-year-olds can successfully wear contacts but it never would have happened without Dr. K and his amazing crew.)

I've been seeing Dr. K for several years now, and my experience every single time is amazing. The staff are all great, and Dr. K is personable, funny and very professional. I always enjoy my eye appointments. He listens well and is very patient answering all my questions. Even though I've moved farther away, I wouldn't dream of switching eye docs.

My whole family sees Dr. K. We love his office and staff. He is such a likable guy too! We have schedule appointments and they are always on time. We have bought numerous pairs of glasses and when something has happened to them they really work with us to have them repaired or replaced. They have also worked well with our insurance.

After reading a lot of positive reviews on yelp about Dr.K , I decided to go in there for my eye checkup. The whole process right from making an appointment to getting my eye tested was handled with utmost professionalism. Dr. K was friendly, professional and answered all my questions patiently. He even gave me a set of contact lenses to try on before making the entire purchase.

1. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze! They were able to get me in quickly and took some basic information over the phone. It made registration much easier when I came in for my appointment.
2. Everyone was so friendly! Rita was very helpful and greeted me with a smile, Dr. K put me at ease even though I was nervous and hadn't had my eyes checked in some time.
