Mackenzie was a great host. Breakfast wasn't fancy, but that's great by me...it was good basic food. Stayed in the main house, which isn't very old and is spacious and well decorated. The toilet is a little whimsical to look at, but it is really just a normal high oval toilet. Bath/shower was excellent! Beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

It was only by chance that I found Dakota Dream while looking to book a last minute Labor Day weekend getaway to South Dakota.
We've been to the Black Hills many times but we were looking for rest and quiet ....And what a terrific hidden Gem we found!
We couldn't have been more pleased with both the Cabin and the Lodge room (we stayed in both) and we can't say enuff great things about our host MacKenzie and her "assistant" Madeline!
MacKenzie runs a beautiful place...clean, well groomed, and down right homey!
She is a delight to be around and little "Maddie " is an added bonus of enjoyment

We spent a couple nights here and to say the least it was great. the Bear's Den had everything we needed, the property was beautiful and quiet with deer wondering at dusk, and Mackenzie the host was a joy to chat with and made a delicious breakfast both mornings. Highly recommend staying here when in the Black Hills area.

Awesome, and Amazing host. Kept clean and well stocked. Amazing property, out of the main stream of the town, but minutes away from shopping, restaurants, and activities. Well worth the experience.

Dakota Dream is an amazing B&B. Mackenzie and baby Madeline are wonderful hosts. We were greeted every morning with smiles and a gourmet breakfast. Their warmth and hospitality was overwhelming. We cannot say enough about them.
The location is close to so many places ie: Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Hill City .
It does not disappoint.
Book now if you are considering a visit to South Dakota.

We've stayed many many places around the world and Dakota Dream B&B and Horse Hotel is right near the top of the list. The only time we've stayed elsewhere in the Black Hills is when didn't book soon enough and Dakota Dream was full.
Location, location, location.
The property is a quiet 10 acre, pine studded, gently rolling landscape that is secluded but within a 20 minute hike of restaurants, bars, nightlife, Mickelson trail, Custer State Park, and more. Incredibly, downtown Custer City is only a few minutes and a mile and a half away by car.
The rooms in the main lodge are wonderfully decorated

Kathy and Ernie are so warm and welcoming! Their property is breathtaking and their B&B is spotless. We stayed in the Black Hills Room which featured cool nightstands and a queen bed made from logs (I told my husband I felt like we were sleeping in a Bernstein Bears bed, lol!), a cushioned chair, and a pair of robes to wear a few steps down the hall to the separate bathroom. Most everything in their cabin is handcrafted and unique. Breakfasts were delicious and there were homemade brownies waiting for us each evening when we arrived back. We both recommend staying here if you have a chance!

Definately stay here if they have availability. Highly recommend reservations. Ernie and Kathy were able to get us in last minute with a little "musicals rooms." Wonderful breakfasts. Kathy even packed us a breakfast of incredible caramel rolls to go one morning when we had to leave early. Great, quiet location. The deer even hang out there in the mornings.
