Good location. Quaint town to explore in, nice that Mt. Rushmore is a very short drive.
Hotel itself is rundown and needs an update. Clean the carpets. Extremely short shower head.
Friendly and pleasant staff.

When we checked in there was no person in the office, they left the keys in the mailbox. there is no elevator you have to haul your luggage up 3 flights of steep stairs with loose carpet. no fridge and microwave. dirty, the worst bed sheets and bed. do not book this hotel. worst hotel I have been at. so bad I checked out the morning even though I have prepaid 2 days.

Just off boardwalk, close to local tourist sites. Good starting point for any site seeing.

Although the room was clean the service was nonexistent. Maid service must be specially requested, which is mentioned no where. (apparently to dangerous for them)and so no beds made or towels replaced, coffee in room for one day and when we requested more the woman in charge was at very rude. We were staying for two nights so beds made and coffee did not seem unreasonable. Also despite the ad there was No breakfast. Don't stay here.

The room was very dated and musty/moldy smelling, and it was expensive, so we were a little disappointed. No breakfast. But, you're paying for location, it's 5 minutes from mtn Rushmore.
Think twice about staying in Keystone.... if you like offensive teeshirt shops and expensive not great food then Keystone's for you!

Close to Mount Rushmore? Yes. Should you travel an hour or so more for a better location? (I’m not sure Keystone has anything good). Millipede in bed. Old, tired, and felt like we needed a shower AFTER we left,

This place hasn't been upgraded in a really long time other than the furniture. If you are taller then 5 feet you will have to bend down to take a shower. The bed is a spring mattress. I recommend being your own toiletries. They only thing they provide is shampoo, bar soap, and towels.

Don't waste your money! No hairdryers nor iron or ironing board in the rooms. Staff was nice enough. "Continental Breakfast" that's included....toast and jam, morning attendant would not refill anything. Room had an odor of mold. Not the worst place I've stayed, but nowhere near the $180 they charged me for the night!!!!!!

I loved the location, since a lot of businesses are within walking distance. The room was okay but my room did not have a fridge. Feels a bit old but I reserved online and got a great price. Not too bad for a tourist attraction.
