Curtis was a truck driver for many years, as well as, a driller for Smith Pipe. He liked to fish and loved to see the mountains in New Mexico and worked on the Ligon Ranch. The folks at Starbuck's Funeral Home in Merkel performed an outstanding service for my family when my mom passed away. Max and Clay were compassionate, so very kind, and very professional. My mom looked so beautiful, thanks to their skills. They treated us as if we were part of their own families. I highly recommend their services for your time of need.

I would not recommend this funeral home. They are under new management whom only care about money. They did my mother services Viola Hudson. My sister called the funeral director only because she we aren't talking and had him remove flowers from my mothers grave yes our mothers grave that I placed on there for mothers day. This is very unprofessional and very ungodly. This shows me they are only about money and not about compassion.

As an out of towner from a large city, I expected much less in a town the size of Merkel, TX. However I was pleasingly surprised with the care and concern for the families wishes and respect by Mr. Clay. I know he had several back to back funerals this past weekend, but he managed to deliver everything he promised. The only reason he didn't receive 5 stars was due to the size of the current funeral home. However, I understand he is expanding and will provide even better bereavement services.
