Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make Modern Eye Gallery the leading provider of vision care products and services in Mount Juliet. Dr. John A. Kirby graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 2007 with a Doctorate of Optometry degree. He graduated from MTSU in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.

Serious health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure are often first detected during an eye exam. The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends children have their eyes examined at 6 months old, three years old, at the start of school, and every two years until age 18.

Dr. Kirby and his staff are amazing! I just got my first pair of multi-focal type lenses (ugh!), and I was very specific about needing them for work to see multiple points from 1ft-4ft from my face. He asked questions about my work world layout, and he hit it out of the park!! I highly recommend Dr. Kirby and the crew at Modern Eye Gallery.

I visited for the first time on Thursday. My 6 year old had a black spot in his eye that had been there for about a month. Dr. Kirby was incredible. He discovered it was a splinter and calmly removed it with tweezers from his eye (so gross). Dr. Kirby kept him calm the whole time. The office was welcoming and clean. When he gave us the bill it was way lower than it should have been. Dr. Kirby was professional but also had a great sense of humor and was wonderful at working with my child. I will definitely go back!

Not once since i’ve been a patient at Modern Eye Gallery have i just been able to walk in and out. I go in for a simple pick up of new lenses and i spend more than 30mins in there talking and chatting with the Dr Kirby and his staff. Very welcoming and positive doctors office. Ever since i was a kid i’ve never liked going to the doctor... Dr Kirby and his staff have definitely changed that ! :) #FeelsGoodToSee

Dr John A Kirby is very knowledgeable of his profession, with a degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctorate in optometry from Southern College. Overall he is a great doctor that genuinely cares for his patients. He helped me with my dry eye problems and explained it in detail. Very easy to setup appointment. I recommend this Optometrist over any other in Mount Juliet!!

Dr. Kirby and the staff at Modern Eye Gallery are friendly and really good at what they do! I have been very happy with my newest pair of glasses. Since my vision isn't that bad in general, but I needed situational help, they took the time to find out the circumstances in which I felt my eyes needed a little help. The prescription, the frames, the lenses... all perfect!
