Went to some sushi place called Sushi Blue. Sushi was alright. Could tell sashimi is frozen tuna kinda pale. But really not a fresh bite if you ask me. Saw on Instagram they get fish from pacific seafood.. go figure. That place isn't reliable getting fish from Indonesia and Mexico. Sad wish they had real Hawaiian fish flown in fresh

Updated November 2021:

Now in this age of Covid, the housekeeping issues I had in a previous stay are moot.

We have stayed here several times and it is good. The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is conveniently near to Arcata (just 4 miles away).

One advantage of the Covid era is that the casino is now NO SMOKING -- hooray! You can actually enjoy yourself and breathe in the casino. I hope that they keep it that way once the mask requirements are removed in the future.

The casino is currently giving $20 worth of either slot credit or 4 $5 bet tickets for the table games, just for showing

Really enjoyed my stay at Blue Lake Casino. Everyone...from the doorpersons to the front desk people (Dena, David) to the manager (Justin) to the folks at the gas station...was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was really nice. Smoke-free...yay! And nearly all the guests wore masks the whole time, which I really appreciated.

The casino has a restaurant toward the back called Alice's that's excellent and with reasonable prices. The super-sweet, tri-linqual server (Mia) was awesome, and I ended up asking the chef (Mark) to make something that had lots of veggies and chicken with

Another great experience. I had a room for 2 night. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. I also met the operations manager who was just finishing a lunch meeting and he stop to say hi. A complete friendly staff from the restaurant to upper level management. If you want to have fun in a great atmosphere i highly recommend coming to blue lake casino and hotel. You can't go wrong.

Love the idea of a micro grid electrical system so in case of a PSPS they still have power. The hotel and gas station are separate so no loss of electricity in a storm or disaster. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I Returned to my car after playing a little bit. Was in my car for eight minutes tops before I was approached by a big red headed male security guard. Immediately he had an attitude. We weren't doing anything but talking and on our phones. There was no reason for him to be treating us the way he was. I feel like we were profiled so he automatically assumed that we were in the car doing illegal activities. Not only was he being super rude but he was looking all around my vehicle trying to find a reason to justify his unprofessional manner. It sucks being treated so poorly in a place where you

The hotel is great. The rooms are clean. The jr suite and suite are spacious. I recommend the king suite. Dena is just wonderful. She made the entire 4 days stay wonderful. We had only planned to stay 2 days but she accommodated me and my ankle cast and we couldn't be happier. The staff is friendly.
Yes, you have to pull down your mask so the thermal thing can take your temp at both the hotel check in and the casino. But then you put it right back on and they are happy.
No, the maids won't clean your room while you stay. I wish they would myself, but it is what it is.
I LOVE the fact

Another one bites the dust. Most customers seem to be Covid deniers, they will scrape right past you as you're seated playing, shouting at their girlfriend, One employee was laughing so hard that any potentially infected particles could have traveled 20 feet. Employees walk around the perimeter talking the whole time. Can't enter without 3 feet of contact with the door person. But worst, they are still doing casino cash giveaways for those 50 years and older, - in Covid times. Thought I could participate safely but no way.

Really nice people, but they don't know how to put #mondaynightfootball on the big screens. They do let you bring in your iPad though.

If I could rate this hotel a ZERO, I would!

Laziest workers. They don't want to clean the rooms...wait, the WON'T clean the rooms!

Mind you, we got the deluxe suite. You'd think it'd have a comfy bed right? None of us wanted that bed. We were told a King, Queen, and pullout sofa. We got one bed and a pullout that poked us in the back.

We called to clean our room everyday, supervisor "cleaned" it. Her standards was "I will lift the blanket all the way up to the pillows so that they can't see the sheets that aren't folded. I will leave new towels

I have been to the casino a few times for Salsa night that takes place on Thursday. Thankfully ther is no cover charge. The guy who is their Dj takes requests for ther people who are new to the area or if it is your first time. I say it because I personally feel that it's helpful to know if one can request a song or songs. My most recent experience with a server was great since she was patient, friendly, and just provided superb customer service. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I shared it with my friend and we both agreed that the cheeseburger was actually pretty good. The server made sure

Absolutely the most abysmal experience my wife and I have ever had. We were on our honeymoon and after driving all day to get here, we started trying to get food at 5:30 and finally gave up 4 hours later and ate our lunchmeat and cheese we had packed for the day. Room service was unavailable, and front desk was like "sorry I don't know anything about the hospitality side".
Believe me, it's well worth the hour trip to stay away from this place and continue south on 101. We skipped the free breakfast as it resembled dog food. Please dont ruin your trip by staying here! I wouldn

This is one of three large casinos in the area, each shines in its own way. Blue Lake focuses on live entertainment. I come here mostly to see concerts or comedians. There are other live events but those do not interest me.

Their casino floor is more or less the same as the others. They have multiple onsite restaurants. Alice's is my favorite. I have stayed overnight at the hotel and found the stay comfortable. The front desk staff were helpful that night. Actually the staff are helpful, every time I need assistance; from valet, to doorman, to security, to hospitality.

Hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. I had to cancel and re-make my reservation and the staff was able to find me a better room and at the same rate too. Rooms and bathrooms are big and beds are comfortable. The pool is also nice. Other than that, plenty of parking, but a little out of the way from everything. My floor was a little loud with ladies talking into the night until 7 am.

As far as food goes, Alice's was terribly slow. We had let them know the day before that there would be ~30 of us in attendance for breakfast. We spent close to 2 hours there with one waitress, cold coffee

Our review is for the hotel. We love this place as a cost-effective base for visiting the Redwood National and State Parks.

The restaurants are awful, particularly "Alices" (2 stars).

However, the rooms were large, with two Queen size beds. Very large Samsung flat screens combined with an excellent cable channel selection. Price was very reasonable for this area.

We would definitely stay here again!

Wow. How do I break this down. I have stayed here probably 25 times in the last couple of years. I have gambled here, ate here, sang karaoke here. It has been about 6 months since I was here last.

Here is tonight's experience:

My sober driving brother and I got two rooms here. We were with a party of 8. My brother had one beer, which I purchased for him. He then went to the restroom from the lounge area. He started chatting up one of the dealers that was dressed in regular civilian attire. I heard this conversation because I was walking right behind him. He was polite and definitely
