Dr. Sween graduated with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry as a Doctor of Optometry. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Sween graduated with Honors from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.

Let me start by saying this is the most pleasant and understanding office personnel ever. They called me when I was late (the first time). I didn't get to explain that we had a sudden death of a church member and I was visiting the family. I apologized and just asked to reschedule. THEN I forgot the second appointment and they called to let me know I was late. I rushed over and they didn't make me wait to make a point. (Honestly, they probably need one of those text message appointment reminder systems.)

Although the most recent eye doctor I have seen was great, I still had a little concern since I been having frequent migraines with auras and double vision. Unfortunately the doctor I had seen did not offer the latest technology of taking pictures of the inside of my eyes to see if there was a clot or any other problems.

I've been going to Dr. Sween since I was in intermediate! Now I got another insurance through my job that they don't take but I still willing to go to him. He's very understanding about your concerns & does his best to treat it. The staff there are nice, and are on top with communication with appointments and any questions!

Wanted to try a different location from last year. I found this place from the Yelp reviews. Very pleasant experience. Followed covid guidelines and the wait wasn't too bad. Very friendly staff and great customer service. Didn't feel like just a number. Definitely felt like a valued client. I will be back next year for sure. I also purchased new glasses after wearing the same ones for 4 years. Love my new glasses!

I had a fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly and the doctor who performed my exam provided excellent service. She spent a lot of time listening to my history and provided very individualized care. They also accept Tricare which is hard to find! I came in planning to order new glasses but found frames I really liked in Costco's selection, so that was an unexpected bonus.

My eye exam was such a breeze with Sween optometry. The convenience of being located in Costco makes parking easy. Both staff and doctor were courteous, helpful, and took the stress out of finding insurance info (forgot my insurance card). I left smiling bigger and seeing better! Dr. Kent is down to earth and the receptionist Sophie is great at what she does, the whole office was amazing and they really show that they care for their clients. Would highly recommend!

1. I loved that the location is in Costco ( you can shop before or after your appointment). 2. The doctor and the staff members explained everything they were going to do before they did it ( they knew I was a little afraid). 3. When your next to be seen, you get a text or phone call ( this gives you a chance to run to the bathroom, care for kids, eat a small snack, etc. 4. The doctor was extremely happy and excited to see me (I can tell he loved his job). I also had a child with me, and the doctor explained everything to the child I had ( so she wouldn't be afraid). 5. Everyone here is amazing. They are all so friendly and organized. A well oil machine. Appointments are easy to make. I love the fact that they are inside of Costco and I can do my shopping after I get my eyes checked without having to get in my car and drive to another location! The Doctors are very easy to talk to and they explain everything very well. As long as we are on Oahu they will be our eye care providers.

If you think an Optometry office isn't the best place to get your eyes checked at a Costco warehouse; think again & check out Sween Optometry. It is my understanding you don't need a Costco membership, so call his office to verify. I highly recommend Dr. Sween because of his "bed side manner." You will be treated as a person, not just a patient. The office is very small & tight, but the staff is friendly and professional. Great location, easy to book an appointment. Since it's at Costco, you'll be able to do your shopping right after! Dr. Sween gives additional information and advice regarding what ails you - I found this very informative and he's easy to talk to and ask questions.

Dr. Sween is the most competent and skilled optometrist that I have ever been to. I have been so impressed by his vast knowledge and his truly caring nature. He has diagnosed eye conditions that no one else caught. He referred me to a top specialist and always checked up on my condition. I am an RN and Nurse Practitioner for the last 50 years and I assure you this Optometrist is THE BEST!
