Only my second time recycling catalytic - I set the cats on the ground - a man who I assume is the shop supervisor (based solely off his instruction to collegues) walks up - and asks what vehicle I removed the catalytic's from. I stated "my S63 AMG, I just did a custom stainless exhaust and one of my employees said I could get decent $$$ recycling these" - he looked at them and said $40ea - (I was led to believe I'd gross more then that by a trusted source) - I said why so cheap? I don't understand why folks say they're worth money.
He said because they're domestic - that if it was Toyota or Honda

Their scale is way off. I had atleast 20 lbs of bare copper wire in a plastic bucket. The scale registered 9 lbs. There is no way. Then they took 2 lbs off for the bucket. Which whatever, thats fine. But at the end of the day I got payed for 7 lbs of bare copper wire expecting around 20 lbs. Spent hours stripping wire to get that bare copper price. Definitely was not worth it. Next time I will go to Wasatch.

Worst prices for scrap. I’m a electrician and sell a lot of scrap, I wanted to see how they do so I made two containers with the same weight in each then went to this place and got 3/4 the amount of money I made from going to Utah metal works the same day for the same weight and consistency of copper. Don’t get ripped of. Never will I go here again.

I’ve gone to this place several times especially when recycling scrap metal from my remodel. Usually it’s fine, but my last few experiences have been very frustrating. The last time I was even able to get there (they apparently like to close early), I asked the front desk which dumpster to put cardboard in. Then I started to throw cardboard into the dumpster I was told was for cardboard. Another employee then ran out yelling that I can’t put it in that dumpster and that there was no cardboard dumpster. He had to go clarify before he’d let me continue. Labels might be a helpful idea...

Recycling pays! Sure it pays in an environmental sense but it can also pay in a financial way.
I had a couple large bags of crushed aluminum cans that I wanted to recycle. Finding a place open on Saturday was a bit of a challenge. Luckly these guys are open till 2. When you pull in the lot look over in the south west corner and you'll see the aluminum recycling area. Just give the worker your cans and he will weigh them and give you a ticket to take inside. On that particular day aluminum was paying 40 cents a lb.
The cashier was quick and friendly and even gave my son a little

First time visit. The staff was very friendly, Jason and Zebe (?) were very friendly and helpful. I brought some of my recycle items in a plastic bucket, and forgot to grab it when I left. While I was in the office checking out, Brad brought it to me. They used my name through-out my experience. the ladies in the office were so nice. The place is organized and clean. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the great Customer Service

It is much better to recycle metals than to throw them in the landfill. But these guys are idiots. Example #1: The foreman told me to drive forward then immediately stepped in front of my Explorer.
Example #2: I was carefully a stove from the back of the Explorer when one their workers insisted on helping. He said we were going to throw the stove into the pile on the count of three. He was in an extreme hurry and did not check where he was stepping. When he said three he stepped on a pipe, rolled into me and tore a 12-inch long gash into my coat.
Example: #3 Two days later the woman at the desk

Obviously it's difficult to get excited about a recycling center, but there really are not many in the Salt Lake area, so I'm certainly very glad for this place. It serves a good function and does it well.
The only minor downside is, the lot is pretty small and not well organized. There are times the line gets crazy and you can easily get stuck in the parking lot unless someone is nice enough to actually leave a gap so you can back out. The trick is, if you do need to park to go inside - park further East next to the building so you are past the incoming line from Redwood road. You
