Portland Eye Care first opened its doors in 1980. The office was established and successfully ran by Dr. Suzanne Maystead for almost 40 years before her retirement. Dr. Maystead and Dr. Andrews first met in 2003 and Dr. Andrews started working with her in 2015. Dr. Krystal Andrews is originally from Mulliken, Michigan and she is a Grand Ledge High School graduate.
One of our highest priorities is keeping our patients well-informed. Dr. Andrews and her staff have a commitment to explaining and guiding our patients through all procedures and treatments. We provide vision and overall eye health services for all members of your family. At Portland Eye Care, we are committed to caring for our patients' complete ocular health.
Routine vision exams will be billed to a patient's vision insurance plan if one is available and we are in-network. A routine exam means that there is no medical diagnosis present and a vision diagnosis is primary (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia).
If a medical diagnosis such as cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma suspect, foreign body, dry eye, etc. is determined by the doctor, the exam is no longer routine and it must be submitted medically.In this situation, the exam will be billed to all medical insurances that the patient provides and then coordinated to vision if your plan allows it.
