The Washington Psychological Center (WPC), established in 1977, is dedicated to providing a wide range of psychological services to the greater Washington, D.C. community, including psychotherapy, assessment, training and consultation. The WPC partners are accomplished, experienced, and highly-trained psychologists, each with a unique set of skills and services provided.

WPC is conveniently located across the street from the Friendship Heights Metro stop in Northwest Washington, DC. Please do not include sensitive clinical information in emails and never use it in an emergency. Dr. Jean Carter has maintained a psychotherapy practice in Washington, DC since receiving her Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1980.

In her work at the Washington Psychological Center, PC, she offers psychotherapy with individuals and couples, with primary emphases on serious trauma, relationship issues, depression and work stress/vocational adjustment.Additional areas of interest include supervision of psychotherapy practice, grief and loss and issues related to sexual orientation for both individuals and couples.

D. in clinical psychology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC in 2003. He is licensed in the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Psychological Association.

The Washington Psychological Center is located in Northwest DC, directly across Wisconsin Avenue from the "Jenifer St." elevator exit of the Friendship Heights Metro Station. If you prefer to take an escalator exit then you should take the "Western Ave. and 44th St." exit at Friendship Heights. You will then walk a short distance south on Wisconsin Avenue before crossing it to enter the building.
