The late Shirley Hall Bass founder of the Bahamas Dance Theatre began the Exchange Program in 1968. Initially these programs were held alternately between Nassau and Chicago, however, over the years, it has been conducted in Peoria, Illinois; Freeport, Bahamas; Paris, France; Dallas, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee.

The program has been a tremendous success, allowing children of all economic and social backgrounds to enjoy the fine arts for more than 40 years. It is our desire to provide an opportunity for all of the students of the school to participate in the International Cultural Dance Exchange by continuing to sponsor such educational programs.

I love the diversity in which the studio provides. My daughter's been a student for the past 3 years. I love that it really helps developed little girls into young ladies, all while helping to build their confidence and believing in themselves! Their gifts are developed and perfected that allows for a future in the art of dance is paved and help carry them into, theater, majorette, choreographers, instructors etc.... If we weren't members already we will join

When I first brought my god daughter to Malone Dance Studios I was very excited. I read the reviews and thought this would be the best place for her. However, after experiencing her first recital I was highly disappointed. The recital was fine, but for the award ceremony I quickly learned that this studio was all about collecting money. The program for the recital was $10 (I was ok with that), but it was in black and white, and if you wanted your daughter to have a full ad in the program (also in black and white) it was $130. In order for the dancers to get an “achievement award” or a medal

My daughter started dance at Malone age 2, left at age 4 to play soccer and has come back at age 7 to get started all over again! She was welcomed with open arms as if she never left! Malone dance studios truly believes in their students, works with them and gives them opportunities to grow and learn! I am so excited about the transformation I know will happen in my daughter as a young woman and as a dancer! Thank you Mrs. Cindy and Mr. Rod for your selfless service to Nashville!
