Services
Storm Ballroom Dance Centre, previously the Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studio of Cherry Hill, offers ballroom and Latin dance lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Private lessons and group classes are held in our Voorhees studio. Our dance instructors are professionally trained and take coaching sessions with world-renowned dancers, ensuring that you learn from the very best.
Below are some of the dances you can learn at Storm Ballroom Dance Centre. During your lessons we will introduce you to each of these dances and we're sure it won't be long before you find a favorite! Argentine Tango originated in the late 19th Century in Buenos Aires. It quickly grew in popularity and spread internationally.

LaBlast was created by Louis Van Amstel, three-time World Dance Champion and Emmy-nominated choreographer. You may be familiar with Louis from his appearances on Dancing With the Stars but he has also choreographed and trained contestants on So You Think You Can Dance, Lie to Me and The Bachelor Pad.
Ballroom dancing reduces the risk of Dementia. The Einstein aging study showed that participants who ballroom danced two to three times a week reduced their risk of Dementia by 76 percent. Keep your mind sharp. Studies by the American Heart Association showed that the amount of oxygen their lungs pumped into the bloodstream rose by 18 percent in cardiac patients who ballroom danced.

I highly recommend Storm Ballroom! I've been dancing at Storm for a little over a year and love it. Tommy & Jenny are incredibly talented, professional, and treat you like family.

Let me be perfectly clear, Liz is a superstar! The consummate professional and deserves five stars! The owner, on the other hand, is the south end of a northbound horse! He is rude, violates your space, infringes on your precious time and changes music during the middle of your lesson ruining the important dance steps Liz is trying to demonstrate. This place is too expensive when you consider less than 50% of your time will be useful and productive. Shop around and ask the questions like, "How many students are on the dance floor at the same time? How do you handle the music if some students

I’ve been a ballroom dancer for 4 years now and I took a break after having my son in 2019. I missed the dance floor so much and I couldn’t have been happier to start my journey once again at Storm! Went there years ago. Great lessons with Tommy when he didn't cancel last minute ! Had a contract that said I could get a refund so after more than 50% of my lessons were cancelled or rescheduled last minute I asked for refund-took months and many excuses . Tommy even told my lawyer don't bother him he's dying of cancer. Which ps he isn't.

I have really loved my sessions so far! We got the Groupon and wanted to get some lessons for our wedding, since our song isn't a traditional slow song. We really enjoyed it and decided to buy the package after the fact. They choreograph the entire dance for you and are very hands on. They make it super easy to learn. Also, their schedule is very flexible which is great! Really recommend Storm Ballroom!

Took classes here for a Groupon and can't wait to go back!! We learned far more in just 2 one on one sessions then we learned in an entire month of group classes at another studio. Plus we had a lot of fun, it was music we could relate to and we got personalized help with the issues my husband and I each struggled with (which of course were different!) and overall the instructors were just so nice to work with-- can't wait to take more lessons!! Don't forget to wear suede or leather soled dance shoes!!

We were paired up with Lisa & Alison as our teachers. They were great, they went at our speed and were totally flexible when scheduling lessons.
The studio is beautiful, well lit and very clean. The staff seems more like a family here which creates an awesome vibe.
In addition to private lessons, Storm offers competitive dancing, exercise groups and parties- check out their FB for more info on what they offer.

I have been with Storm Ballroom going on 4 years now, October 2017. I had taken lessons with another studio but was looking for something more when a dance friend invited me to come and meet Tommy and Jenny at a social event. One dance with Tommy and I knew I had found my new dance home. I was in the studio the next day taking my complimentary first lesson, and have not looked back since.

I have been taking lessons at Storm for a little over a year and it has been life changing. I was an empty nester looking for something new to do. I have lost weight, thanks to LaBlast classes and Lisa, and have been able to work on my self confidence with my group and private lessons. Curt Jenny Tommy and Staci are wonderful teachers and truly care about their Students. Storm is an awesome environment to dance in whether you are just starting or have been dancing for years!! Its a very inviting studio with very inviting teachers and students. I have been going there for 2 years and love it!! Storm has something for everyone; private lessons, group classes, and Lablast!! I've attended their beginner group classes and I'd say it's a great way to spend a Friday evening! I go with my guy (who is also a big fan), but I'd definitely recommend it for those without a dance partner as well. The instructors are all so friendly and welcoming. I hear they have a Voorhees location as well which is close to me. I'm curious about what sort of classes they offer there!
